We're the Only Ones Flushed Enough

ChaaKaa Guilbe found something unusual in the women's bathroom of a University City restaurant when she escorted her 6-year-old daughter to the loo Monday evening: there, on top of the toilet paper dispenser inside the stall, was a gun...

The handgun was left behind at Cheddar's off of West W.T. Harris Boulevard by an on-duty Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer from the North Division, which covers most of northern Mecklenburg County. The female officer's full name was not released Monday night, but police said the department will conduct an internal investigation.
Of course the officer's name was not released. She's one of the Only Ones. Heck, she probably won't be charged with felony child endangerment, like one of us sub-citizens would be, either.

  1. How in the world does a cop leave a gun behind??? Didn't she notice a slight difference in weight when she strapped on that oh-so-heavy duty belt back on? Not only did she forget her gun, the light didn't go on in her head until she had driven away from the restaurant!!! Utter incompetence. I find it interesting (and pleasantly surprising) that the reporter did a little homework and included the PD's policy on firearm handling at the end of the article.

  2. "Guilbe said she's glad she went in the stall with her young daughter and found the gun before the child could touch it. She said she rushed the girl out of the stall. Both were shaken up, she said. And she's also angry. 'What if it had fallen and went off?' she asked."

Dear, there's a higher probability of injury by rushing your uneducated-on-firearms daughter out of the stall and causing her to fall on wet tile.

  3. How come I'm never that lucky? I find a cop's gun, he loses!
