A bystander broke up a Northwest Albany armed robbery he witnessed by firing two gunshots in the air. He then followed the armed robbers as they fled, and alerted police who arrested the three gunmen...Good luck.
Marcus said the Police took his .357 Magnum as evidence after the robbery, but they assured him he would get it back soon.
He'll be lucky if charges don't follow.
"You have our assurance..."
ReplyDeleteThe word of a cop means NOTHING!
You are absolutely correct RJ. It is a settled point of law that cop can lie with impunity to any non-LEO.
ReplyDeleteSomething is seriously wrong with this story. I witnessed a car wreck a couple of weeks ago while driving. I helped out until cops arrived, gave a statement and identified myself. They didn't confiscate my car as evidence, even though that was the instrument I used to protect the disabled vehicle and the young woman in it.
Guess they screwed up.
Albany != NYC. Its basically a smallish town in the middle of nowhere. As long as the guy has a license (which you can get relatively easily outside of NYC) there should be no reason he doesnt get it back.
ReplyDeleteIn many areas, cops routinely confiscate guns used in shootings. I think it's stupid and wrong but it still does happen and the guns are still returned most of the time. A follow-up on this story would be good though.
They should give him a medal not take his gun.
