On Sept. 28, key rights guaranteed by our Constitution, plus the central tenet of the Magna Carta, were nullified by an act of Congress – specifically, the Military Commissions Act of 2006, "to authorize trial by military commission for violations of the law of war, and for other purposes." It's those "other purposes" you have to watch out for.Theoretical question: If guns are banned and confiscation begins, and some Americans engage in coordinated defiance and resistance, will they be classified "unlawful enemy combatants"...?

Of course we will, David. If we resist, it will be nothing less than all-out war We must win, for if we lose, we die.
ReplyDeleteI went back and read the original post, and I can only conclude that our gov't has indeed declared war on the American Citizen.
ReplyDeleteAnd how anyone can not understand that an "unlawful enemy combatant" is now whoever they say one is, is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteThey don't like something you say or do, you're an unlawful enemy combatant. Do you get your day in court under due process? No, because you're an unlawful enemy combatant.
Does your family even know why you disappeared? No, because you're an unlawful enemy combatant.
An unlawful awful enemy combatant.
ReplyDeleteI get really ugly when f***** with.
It is like when DHS started using the term "Universal Adversary" when developing training scenarios. The definition of Universal Adversary includes civil rights activist.
ReplyDeleteThe Constitution is getting flushed for "the safety and security of the people".
Our police forces are becoming more and more militarized, and they are asking for even more power.
It is time for a change.
Our Police IS the standing Army the Constitution was warning against: looking at the Hercules units in NYC you can't see the difference between them and the Marines (maybe except different color patterns on their uniforms).
ReplyDeleteDon't you guys think that the "military tribunals" will require a different type of prisions/detention facilities for its convicts since they will be treated differently under the law?
So basically the logical extension of this argument is the creation SECRET CAMPS ...
Maybe Mathew Bracken is not that far off.

ReplyDeleteWhile much of the mainstream media glossed over this news with a disinterested yawn, one brave commentator made no bones about the magnitude of this treachery. Watch MSNBC's Keith Olbermann at http://tinyurl.com/yk6osh as he comments on this appalling development. If you do nothing else, WATCH THIS VIDEO! It will make your blood boil, to say the least.
