After a series of school shootings nationwide, Democratic congressional candidate Tammy Duckworth called Tuesday for "sensible" gun laws while accusing her Republican opponent, state Sen. Peter Roskam, of being a "rubber stamp" for the National Rifle Association...
"I have seen the effect of those weapons in military combat, and I can tell you there's no place for them in our communities or on our streets," Duckworth said, citing her experience in Iraq as a member of the Illinois Army National Guard.
Actually, Tammy, you never saw "those weapons" included in the expired federal ban, because it only pertained to select semiautomatic firearms. You've taken a page right out of the VPC playbook--intentionally confusing a public ignorant of the difference--one of the most effective PR lies the antis have dreamed up, but a lie nonetheless.
But everybody's supposed to roll over because Duckworth is a war hero. Today's "This Day in History" post should provide all the historical example we need that those who serve their country valiantly on the battlefield don't necessarily serve the cause of liberty with equal valor.
The National guard is letting cretins like this in its ranks? Thank God it also has people like Nicki Fellenzer too, or it would be in a world of hurt!
ReplyDelete. Today's "This Day in History" post should provide all the historical example we need that those who serve their country valiantly on the battlefield don't necessarily serve the cause of liberty with equal valor.
ReplyDeleteAla John McCain. How could a Medal of Honor awardee author a repeal of the first amendment? But he did. From hero to traitor in one lifetime.
ANOTHER one that didn't comprehend the document that THEY SWORE TO UPHOLD AND DEFEND.....
ReplyDeleteCan someone dig up her service record? I bet she worked in the commisary...
ReplyDeleteNimrod, she was a helicopter pilot who lost both legs.
ReplyDeleteLike I tried to make clear, no one is questioning battlefield valor, but that's not a pass for her current attempts to disarm her fellow citizens.
Straightarrow, I believe you have been seriously misinformed. John McCain is NOT a Medal of Honor awardee.
ReplyDeleteLee, are you certain about that? Can anyone here tell us definitively?
ReplyDeleteI was operating under the report that he received the Medal of Honor for his acts of courage and sacrifice he made as prisoner of war. He did exhibit great courage and honor in refusing repatriation if his fellow prisoners were not also released. he did refuse to be used as a propaganda tool because of the political prominence of his family.
I have read numerous times that he was awarded the Medal of Honor.
So, anybody know for sure which is correct?
You are correct Mr. Warner. Thank you, this misconception has greatly disturbed me. Now I don't feel nearly as badly as I did. I found this at a biographical site listing his military award.
ReplyDelete". During his military career he received a Silver Star, a Bronze Star, the Legion of Merit, the Purple Heart, and a Distinguished Flying Cross."
It really is a relief to know that I don't disrespect a Medal of Honor holder. Thank you, again.
Now, I need to figure out where I got that erroneous data that I have believed for years. Damn, I hate it when that happens.
For perspective on Ms. Duckworth, see:

Commissioned Officer (Major) helicopter pilot, self-professed "contol freak," combat- wounded, lost both legs...now unashamedly plans to aggressively exploit her "status" as a female war "victim" for protection from political challenge and personal aggrandizement. She also plans to exploit politization of the war as a wounded veteran...a Tefloned John Kerry Liberal in the making here...
Don't take my word for it, read the quotes attributed to her in the article.
Entry in the public domain subjects candidate' political views to scrutiny...there ought be no "victim shield" offered here. Her treasonous public statements betraying the Constitution negate her previously honorable service and related sacrifice.
She certainly is Nicki's antithesis.
