If you have a blog/website and would want to participate as a ring member, drop a comment below.
If you can assume the role of Ring Master and set everything up, let's discuss it in the Comments.
Maybe we can start out with a solicitation to develop an identifying graphic, maybe a Gadsden flag with "Free Wayne!" or some such...?
If there's interest and someone wants to take the lead, let's get a comment thread going.
Is there any support for this?

David,
ReplyDeleteI cannot offer to run it, but I will toss my hat in to the adding the ring to my blog.
I have couple of rings
ReplyDeletehttp://viewsok.com
I'll certainly join in and help publicize it if it gets going.
ReplyDeleteHow hard can it be to maintain a web ring? It shouldn't take much work or time, I'd think.
I'll go check it out.
I've already weighed in on my graphic idea
ReplyDeletebig graphic idea
I'm all for it.
HH, I LIKE it.
ReplyDeleteHH - So do I;
ReplyDeleteLt. Commander Wayne Fincher
(Look toward the bottom of page).
Count me.
ReplyDeleteI'll join
ReplyDeleteI'll join the webring when it's up and operating.
ReplyDeleteI am also in.
ReplyDeleteGuys, this is not a good idea.
ReplyDeleteSetting up a website to disseminate information is very good.
Posting account numbers for contributions is very good.
Listing yourself as a proponent carries a possibility that when things go bad the entire group can be singled out, tracked as potential troublemakers etc.

ReplyDeleteWe have to stand and anounce our resolve at some time. Cowering in fear is exactly how the perverse gov. wants us to be. We The People should NOT be in fear of our government. On the contrary, (as noted by Thomas Jefferson and other founders), they should be in fear of us. Let the spirit of resistance be made known and nurtured. We are NOT in a dictatorship, yet....
plus it's not like they can't track every single thing you do online...even your anonymous posting. Everything runs through a computer of theirs at some point, be it phone, net, pictures of you while on the street, or God knows what else.
ReplyDeleteTo sin by silence when they should protest makes cowards of men.
-Abraham Lincoln
A nation of cowards will beget a nation of slaves.
You need only reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the struggle for independence. -- Charles Austin Beard, The Blue Press, June, 1994
and as far as the graphic, sorry if that sounded like the one I whipped up was the end all be all. Just something until someone can come up with something better.
Too late for me, anon.
ReplyDeleteIt's too late for you, too, but you don't seem to have come to grips with that yet.
No, HH, I really like it.
ReplyDeleteAnd apparently, I'm not the only one.
Although I don't use my full name on my blog, I have made no attempt to hide my identity and even linked to other places that show my full name. I figure I'm already list somewhere.
ReplyDeleteThat's a cool graphic, but it may be necessary to come up with another one depending on the format of the webring code. It might need to be banner-style or something like that. Shouldn't be hard to adapt, though.
"tracked as potential troublemakers"
ReplyDeleteI'll wear that like a badge of honor.
Yes David, it is too late for me too. I post way too much including quoting you a lot.
ReplyDeleteStan, wearing it like a badge doesn't change anything really : doesn't help you win the battle/war just makes you an easy target.
E.David Quammen: yes, they should be in fear of us and they are (thus the alphabet agencies, wars on *) But their fear is cold and calculated. You cannot preserve resitance without anonimity. I can't even believe i had to point that out. Democracy is not a Republic, don't forget that. Democracy is a totalitarian system where the majority can do anything to the minority and Principles can be "voted out". Of course, in higly important matters (like going to war) the decision is made for the majority.
Here's my main concern:
There exists a theoretical possibility that we can loose this thing. That the current state of dictatorship and disregard of the principles will get worse.
What will happen then?
Obviously no one knows all we can do is to borrow from history.
So take a look at the Soviets: MILIONS of people in the Gulag. And the Soviet motto was spreading freedom and equality ...
The Germans during the war would come in and arrest the person of interest then process and/or exterminate them. The Soviets would arrest everyone in the building.
Many unsuspecting people with the best of intentions trying to help out in this fight should be warned somehow. We should at least let them know that what they are about to engage in can bring them and their families and the people they know pain and suffering because they can be standing up to a powerfull enemy.
So telling them to remain annonymous if possible would be the least we could do.
We need to be careful realists with hope and not careless optimists falling into traps (NYC, 30 year sentence for letting an informant convince the kid it's time to take action and defend the honor of the raped Iraqi girls).
You don't have to go that far back into history, in fact, just a few months back. Military commissions act. The push to have RFID in everything is just making things harder, as will the REAL ID act when it comes online. Add that to massive data storage and mining, the databases and quickly you see how we're being tracked, watched, and flagged.
ReplyDeleteMy point is if you want to form some kind of "underground," unless you have some good means to drop off the face of the planet while remaining in plain site when you should be it's not possible to remain anonymous.
The more visibility that can be had the better, people ask questions when someone disappears. At least they do now. Once the pattern gets widespread enough, and those who ask questions start disappearing, then things will change.
Good point alandp. I'll toy around with some possible banners.
Anon, anyone who would put a link and graphic on their website is already known as an advocate.
ReplyDeleteOnce making the proclamation "Free Wayne" becomes illegal, I fully expect the shooting will have already begun.
I'll add it to mine as well if you tell me what I need to do.
ReplyDeleteDavid, it looks like that one webring system you suggested will force ads on the readers unless the ringmaster pays for it.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure alt-webring.com is free. There are probably others.
Looks like we will have a webring. I will post more on this when ready to be announced.
ReplyDeleteTo Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteI will remind you of an unpleasantry: No one, absolutely no one leaves this earth alive. Please remember that. Unless you are somehow immortal and death cannot touch you, please remember that you too, will die someday. I know of only three exceptions to this rule: Enoch, Elijah, and those who are in Christ when the rapture occurs.
Now, that being settled what you do for the truth before you leave this earth matters greatly. The effort you put forth for the Lord, your country, your family and all those who will come after you will be how you are remembered. Personally, I am already up to my eyeballs and beyond involved in standing for the truth of God, and for the foundation of this nation. There is a point in which we have to state "I don't care what happens to me, I'm going to stand." Wayne crossed that line quite some time ago and was determined to go forward regardless of the cost. I have no choice but to stand with him as I am his friend. It's time to lose the fear and stand.
