Note that telling them you have an unalienable Constitutionally-guaranteed right to keep and bear arms is not acceptable as good cause. Is everyone starting to get the picture?

  1. The good Sheriff should have to give "good cause" as to why CCW holders shouldn't be allowed to have their license, not the other way around.

Better yet, unless he can show a 100% arrest rate for the murderers, rapists and thugs in Santa Barbara, he should keep his mouth shut.

  2. The very second I calm down and can see straight again. I am writing a letter to the NRA ... again. I can't even think straight enough to figure out what I want to say here ... maybe I should just drink the Kool-aid? Hey Mike (CalGuns), got a cup?

  3. WOW.

How long are permits good for in CA?

How long is a term of office for sheriff?

What is the size of the county? Are a lot of permit holders involved?

What does the office consider to be a legit cause outside of a work requirement? Do you need to have been issued a TRO or some such? Is living in a high crime area sufficient? What are the rules?

It sure sounds like this guy is just a ballbuster looking to revoke law abiding citizens LTC.

This is why shall issue laws are so important, namely to prevent a "swaggering, overbearing, tin-plated dictator with delusions of godhood" from usurping the sovereign rights of law abiding citizens.

    What an ASS!
