This Day in History: April 18

Listen my children and you shall hear
Of the midnight ride of Paul Revere,
On the eighteenth of April, in Seventy-five;
Hardly a man is now alive
Who remembers that famous day and year.

Take a moment and re-read this famous poem, preferably with a young person.

    My children just watched an animated short about Paul Revere's ride. This will be a great follow up.

    I got my Gadsden flag.

    I was pleased as punch when the kids saw the divided snake motif in the movie on the Revolution the famous join or die image and said "THAT'S OUR FLAG!"

    What a proud poppa.

    David,

    I remember my mom reading this to me when I was a very young boy. Later on I read it for myself. Even today, it is very stirring to read.

    You know, that was 232 years ago. We have a good history David. A history marked by honorable men in difficult circumstances.
