What I find the most disturbing is that her question (who needs to get shot?) truly reflects how a large part of the civilian disarmament lobby thinks. Just as Josh Sugarmann saying that serious discussion of a handgun ban won't begin "until something truly horrible happens," just like Carolyn McCarthy filing H.R. 1859 within hours of the Virginia Tech murders--these people look at tragic, outrageous shootings as opportunities to advance their agenda.
Ms. Thomas is merely more up-front about it than most.
She has nothing new to bring to the table, just the same ol'stuff. Wanting me to give up my firearms so we both can become victems. She better pray I keep my weapons so I can maybe one day save her from a criminal with rape in his mind and murder in his heart.
She wants to have a "thoughtful" discussion. But first she tells you all the thoughts she won't tolerate in it. My, how thoughtful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a bag of wind. I just wasted 3 minutes reading a vague, nothing of substance article. She is really a politician testing the waters.
