The Answer to School Shootings: Increase Number of Soft Targets

In Scotland, a massacre occurred at Dunblane Primary School in 1996, and laws were subsequently changed to control hand guns. In the years since then, I don’t believe there has been a school shooting in Britain.

You don't need to single out schools, Howard, when your entire country is a criminal empowerment zone.

  1. David: While Howard was actually writing from Damascus, Maryland, USA, and not Britain, your comment still rings true. Maryland IS a criminal empowerment zone.

  2. Yeah, I know that, Lee--I was using "you" and "your" as general terms applicable to anyone, not to him specifically, because he cited the UK as being the template we should adopt here.

Aha! The editorial "you" and "your" also known as fully automatic spray and pray from the hip assault words, barbed as sharply as a bayonet with a guthook, indiscriminate in their pointing to buffoons who have no protection against these indications of generalness. Words like these serve no purpose except to expose those about which we write and talk, they serve no sporting purpose (it isn't a damn bit sporting to expose an idiot) and can only be used to describe specific or general human classes of subjects of conversation. We should outlaw them all, or at least highly regulate their possession, with huge penalties for their misuse in making anyone feel uncomfortable. Let's do it for the children. May they never know they may be talked about. In, fact, children should be allowed NO vocabulary until they attain the age of 21, then only with a license, background check, registration and serial-numbered words that may be traced through micro-definition stamping, should the state so desire, uh, I mean should they ever be misused. That would be good first step in banning words altogether so that we may live in peace and harmony. Do it for the children. Oh, did I already say that? Well, see there, one can never overplay emotional claptrap when striving to protect the children. Thank you (oops, that word again) Sarah.

couldn't help myself, just wanted to see if it sounded just as idiotic applied to something else as it does to guns. It does.

  4. Hey, they have not had any shootings so it must be good!! Well in regards to gun violence in schools anyway...
Stab-proof school uniforms go on sale to protect pupils from knife attacks

Seven boys under the age of 16 have died in knife attacks in the space of just two months this year.

Teachers are also demanding to be equipped with stab-proof vests to protect them from attack as they frisk pupils for knives and guns.

David pays the $200 tax on those words, so he's legit.

    Also: What's "gunviolence"?

I'm not sure, but there are some really scary sounds erupting from my gunsafe.

Sounds like a knockdown drag out fight going on in there, but can't be sure. I'm afraid to look, also the door is locked so the dragout part isn't working if that is what's going on.

But you know how the long guns look down on the short guns and call them "girly" guns. It just may have been too much ridicule of their smaller endowments for them to tolerate without going off half-cocked. :(

Dont' tell the French about that. They are still looking for kindred spirits and I don't want to have to commiserate with them for their shortcomings.

Now if you had asked about human generated violence I could probably have given a better answer.

To a criminal it is getting caught and forced to pay the price.

To a conservative it is physical harm caused by another. With the proper response to visit enough violence in return to make the attacker cease, desist, and whine about violence.

To a liberal it is any word, phrase, or expression of reality that undermines their political agendae in exerting control over all others in all things.

See? You just asked the wrong question. I hear my safe quieting down, perhaps I will look later and see how much gunviolence happened all by its ownself.
