I just don't have time to deconstruct this right now, but will say Matt Sedensky is either totally ignorant of his subject matter, that is, incompetent, or a deliberate liar--meaning he's reached the pinnacle of his profession and is now a Master Authorized Journalist.
Besides, you don't need me to do this for you. How many lies can you find?

Good heavens! Where do I begin? The "semi-auto" AK47? Real ones are full-auto. High-powered "asshat, er, assault weapons"? I have a bolt action 30.06 with a lot more power per round than the AK47's ammo. And almost all rifle rounds will penetrate the standard issue "bullet proof" vest.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe that these "authorized journalists" are that dumb. They are deliberate deceivers, hoping that their readers are that dumb, and a lot of THEM are!
I sent an email to AP about the article by using the AP website to find an email address for comments. I also offered to help get facts straight if he has to do another article having comments concerning guns. Sam
ReplyDeleteI don't believe the "ignorance" excuse. Local Police Departments aren't competant to determine whether or not a particular semi-automatic is an "assault weapon" even under the now irrelevant legal definition. So some of the ignorance/dishonesty is shared by the local police and they are also often involved in the conspiracy. Note: Professional Police Chief Associations are political not professional organizations. Of course, this is the intention anyway, to label all possible semiautomatics as "assault weapons". I am alao amazed at the reasoning that police officer are great candidates for having Assault Weapons to defend themselves from the ever increasingly armed criminal, while "us civilians" should be relegated to the most ineffective weapons, if any at all. Overall, i can just assume that the term "Authorized Journalist" is a journalist "authorized to lie".
ReplyDeleteAh, but there is a thread of truth in this tale. At the end, one officer admitted, "Your blood just runs cold."

I have an 1898 Mauser....the assault weapon of its day. You should see me "spray" bullets.
