As Frisco police launch a formal investigation after a bank customer was detained based on a teller's suspicions, the customer has now hired a lawyer."Detained." Because "assaulted" is such an ugly word.
This wouldn't have happened if Jim Hardie had been there. And TV show notwithstanding, Wells Fargo once had the fortitude to be the hub of Gold Rush mining camps, to provide a civilization lifeline to outposts and settlements by manning stagecoaches through the wilderness, to deliver express mail by rider.
But bank employees are conditioned to be such excitable little dears nowadays. That's the problem with a helpless mindset, and in this case, a customer could have been killed.
WoG correspondent Tony G who sent me this story speculates "I wonder what would have happened if he had a CHL and his weapon on him."
Good point.
I bet this wouldn't have happened to him if he was white. The gun grabbers and the pansy sheep claim they aren't racist. But when "one of them" enters a white bank, it doesn't take long for them to assume the bulge of car/house keys must be a gun.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to this guy is bad enough, but why put his girlfriend in handcuffs? Why detain his 3-year-old daughter?
ReplyDeleteI hope he sues the bank till they start passing blood. Idiots!
ReplyDeleteLooks like another case of banking while black. These scum should have their pants sued off.
ReplyDeleteAre "Police" acting as though they they are drones...incapable of reacting to a scenario in real-time? Instead they must pounce on anything at the word of "suspicion", and act according to subroutine..er.."procedure".
ReplyDeleteHave they no power to get there, observe, and THEN react?
I pray that one day they will attempt an attack of a peaceable, arms-bearing(CC or OC) citizen who will use his right of self-defense.
Think of it: You get a report of someone has robed a bank and has taken off armed on foot. (just for the sake of discussion)...
Do you:
A.) Stop the person with your hand on your weapon, or drawn -but not pointed- with backup hiding nearby and question him there. (no cuffs, no disarmament prior to determining if there is true cause for arrest)
B.) Threaten him with weapons pointed at him. (cuffs, disarmed, etc.)
C.) Hide and then pounce. (If the person walking happens to be innocent and armed, what will he think to do if surprised?)
D.) Just shoot him on site. (And yes this is coming. Think of national-atmosphere catered toward the next scare-"fad" such suicide-bombers.)
Sincerely, C.H.
I work in a bank, and can't belive the conduct of the wells fargo employees.
ReplyDeleteIt also seems that there is no procedure in place to handle an actual robbery situation.
He was 'banking while black'. Frisco is an overwhelmingly affluent, caucasian suburb north of Dallas. He didn't fit the local demographic, and there have been several suburban branch bank robberies a week for as far back as I can recall. In those instances, the overwhelming majority of bank robbers matched the general description of the aggrieved party..i.e., black.
ReplyDeleteThe teller got nervous, the police didn't analyze the situation adequately, and everybody (who wasn't on the ground in cuffs) overreacted to one degree or another.
I, too, have a feeling Wells Fargo is going to poop blood for awhile following this. Maybe the City of Frisco will too. They probably should.

Rabbit.
