They call themselves the Regulators.
They wear tattoos of a skull-faced man holding a shotgun, fire screaming from its barrels. They refuse to testify against their buddies. They've been accused of extorting and intimidating those outside their ranks.
No, they're not members of a street gang. They're Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies at the Century station in Lynwood.
Uh, yes, they are too a street gang. And they're the "Only Ones" we need fear. The others we can repel by force, if necessary, and have at least a chance against the resulting legal consequences. If we defend ourselves from these thugs, the entire force and resources of the state will be brought down on us with a vengeance.
They've gone from "peace officers" to "law enforcement officers" to "regulators."
I can't think of a better example for explaining crime lord Lee Baca's insistence on keeping the populace his arrogant thugs "regulate" legally disabled from fighting back.

How many times must I say it before people believe it? "The only difference between most law enforcement agencies and criminal gangs is a stricter dress code."
ReplyDeletestraightarrow, I think most people who don't have their heads up their rear ends already know that many (maybe most) cops are nothing but crooks. And at least my observation is that the bigger the city, the worse the problem.
ReplyDeleteGet real, man. Anybody who says that most cops are crooks doesn't know many cops. There are many cops on our side. Why do yu want to insult some of our best? Do you want them to think you are a GUN NUT?
ReplyDeleteIf any of our friends on the force are reading this, I apologize for these stupid comments. Not all of the readers of this blog agree.
In response to "Gunny":
ReplyDeleteThere are in fact many instances where LEOs do violate the law.
There are many case where LEOs do in fact act under color of authority in ways that would have you or I in jail, but they do it with impunity.
If you think LEOs are our friends, your not paying enough attention.
Ask Patricia Konie if LEOs are friends to peaceful law abiding gunowners.
GunNuts indeed.
I know there are cops out there who aren't corrupt, but even then we don't hear them condemning the crooked ones among them. David has a lot of posts on this blog detailing civil liberties violations by cops. When was the last time you heard the Fraternal Order of Police or any other police organization speak out against those? If anything, they seem to be making excuses for their own all the time.
