Judging from Rendell's podium-pounding announcement of his plans last week, he's not going to say "pretty please" when calling for gun-violence reform."Podium-pounding"?
Like this...?
Or like this...?
Let's hope Pennsylvania gun owners have enough control over their legislators to tell this tinpot dictator to go pound sand.
A similar "package" was pushed through here last Fall, and was defeated by a vote of 17-11. 5 of which were "Rendell" Democrats.I will be contacting "our Reps" this afternoon to ask for another round of defeat against these absurdities.
ReplyDeleteI've become more politically active since returning from my service in Iraq. Something about assisting our new friends establish a respresentitive government sparked interest in me. Since becoming more personally involved in the process I have discovered that in Pennsylvania this sort of mini-dictator is quite common. Yesterday I was told by the Fayette County Sherrif that he "makes the rules" about who carries firearms and where.
ReplyDeleteWe have a very good state for firearms owners, but it's still a constant battle.
Hey Jared,
ReplyDeletewelcome back, and THANKS for what you did over in Iraq!! James Carvelle once said Pa Politics is akin to Arkansas being between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. This is a great 2A State, sorry to hear the Fayette County Sherrif thinks the way he does.Good luck with that, don't give up!! Thanks again for your Service to the Country!!
It would appear that we do still have enough control. I'm disappointed they didn't vote down all three, but I think a few legislators probably felt it was politically useful for some politicians to let the "victimized twice" gun reporting requirement to die a quiet death, rather than a blatant one. Nonetheless, Rendell got none of what he wanted, which is a good thing.
