The Today Show, actually--they were reporting on yesterday's Supreme Court decision to hear Heller, and the anchorbabe presented the opposition's case to the effect that the Second Amendment is based on 18th Century conditions, as if that makes it no longer relevant, and as if that is sufficient grounds to pass disarmament edicts. I thought it significant, though, that the "Authorized Journalists" are already starting the spin to reframe the debate away from "collective rights," so if they lose, they'll have fixed the "no longer relevant" alternative in the consciousness of their viewers.
I also caught a few seconds of Wayne on CNN. I wish they would've asked him why NRA tried to "foul the waters" and, in light of that, if they think it's right that now they're getting so much of the media's attention.
Liberally biased anti-gun broadcast news does Heller. CNN showed an ambulance and a mother with a child shot by gunfire. That is just on the segment where the Supreme Court just granted certiorari. They are just revving up to spin and outright lie about the case. Let's see the media try to explain the overall drop in violent crime in 40 of 40 states with firearm carry laws. D.C. misled the Court, did not base their question on the ruling of the appeals court for the district and uses statistics on crime and social statistics irresponsibly and has been guilty of keeping its citizens unarmed for some 31 years. It is about time some Constitutional principles were followed. Many of these anti-gunners are illogical, emotional and/or stupid. Not to be able to defend yourself in your own home borders on criminal.
ReplyDeleteIt goes beyond bordering on criminal, Anon, it is criminal--especially when you consider they'll kill you if you defy them and exercise a right guaranteed by "the supreme law of the land."
