Is America, land of shooting massacres in schools and public places, slowly falling out of love with guns? With his very first statement, Bernd Debusmann reveals for all to see that he's more interested in being obnoxious than engaging in an examination of the merits of his arguments. And relying on Josh Sugarmann to bolster his wishful thinking just confirms what we're dealing with.
Sorry, Bernd. We're not French smokers. And neat propaganda term: "gun rampages." Made possible only because fools like you enable "gun free zones" prohibiting "defensive gun uses."
Bottom line: If someone came into Bernd's Reuters office--no doubt another place where guns are prohibited--with evil and violent intent, just what do you think he'd be prepared to personally do about it? If the answer is "nothing," isn't that pretty much a contemptible position for a "man" to intentionally put himself in?
Oh... yeah. Gunrampages.
ReplyDeleteRight. But that's not limited to America.
I expect he would piss his pants. They're already full of shit if he has them on.
ReplyDeleteBurned-out Debusmann:
ReplyDeleteEvery single study done by gun-banners involves statistically invalid methodology. Random phone surveys are not now, and never have been considered a reliable data-gathering system for gun ownership and use. Who the hell wants to discuss possession of valuable property with an anonymous voice on the phone? Would YOU admit to the possession of gold, or a Picasso, or a collection of diamonds to a mystery caller who claims to be doing a study?
Every study done by scientists, who properly design the studies, use valid, mathematically-correct statistical analysis, and repeatable data-gathering methods, all come to the same conclusion: Gun control has no measurable effect on crime. Witness studies done by Kleck, Lott, and the CDC, for just a few examples.
My favorite bit of the article was the qualifier he put in when printing the 2A: "Written 219 years ago ..."
ReplyDeleteAs if somehow age makes it less "appropriate" in a civilized culture that should look to Germany, France, and Obama to restructure our deranged society to be more globally acceptable. Feh.
Makes me want to buy an AK.
