The new law — the product of a rare partnership between gun control advocates and the National Rifle Association...
Well, if The New York Times is for it, what's not to like?
"Progress on Guns."
Good title. It's refreshingly honest. It means this is but a move in the desired direction. There's more to come.
And we're all clear on what it means to be "progressive" nowadays in the world of politics, right...?
Every movement has its' traitors, quislings, and sellouts. I think the NRA could qualify as all three. We got fucked by Congress. Bare ass naked in the town square fucked. And the NRA provided the grease. I wonder if those guys can read minds? They're gonna be real mad when they get to me.
ReplyDeleteI liked the way Tom Gresham slammed a caller on his show for buying the GOA lies about HR 2640. "VPC hates it, so it must be good!" "Just go to the NRA website and read how good this bill is!" Jeez, with friends like these... Of course, Brady Center and dozens of anti pols love this bill, too. No mention that of all the pro-gun groups, NRA was the only supporter it had.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't forget, this could not have been passed the way it was without the Senate minority leaders (Repubs) agreeing to it, too.
