The Thulsa I use for these forays is from the movie universe, Arnold's Conan, to be exact, Ace, not Robert E. Howard's literary universe, where Thulsa Doom was originally presented as a nemesis of Kull in the Thurian Age.
I do that because that's where I got the two headed snake logo and the cult leader device--and because the movie is what most people are familiar with, fewer still with the comic books, and even fewer with the REH stories many of us grew up on.
You'll recall in the film the James Earl Jones character wiped out the Cimmerian village and killed Conan's parents and all the other adults, and then enslaved the children.
It's no worse than "Gun owners for McCain".
