"We think it's just another way for people to shoot people and have an excuse to shoot them."Look, Joan Peterson, I really can't help if you and your fellow Project Minnesotaites have such low regard for your own morality and self control that you need to project your deficiencies onto others.
As for you, Deputy Chief John Breyer, that's all I need is some "Only One" telling me when it's appropriate to use force. And I'm sure a drunk on the couch in the wrong house is a damn near universal experience we all can relate to.
And as for the third member of this unholy triune, LeAnn Wallace, the Northland's News Center, I guess it would have been too much work to maybe actually tell your viewers what the legislation really provides for, as opposed to what Joan Peterson and Chief Breyer say it does, or maybe even to talk to a proponent of the bill to get their take on it, and maybe give your viewers some balance in what is being presented as a straight news story, but in typical "Authorized Journalist" fashion is merely just another free advertisement for the citizen disarmament lobby...?
Oh gee, I don't know, wouldn't one think an Authorized Journalist woule have noticed and asked about the contradiction in the statement of Protect Minnesota?
ReplyDeleteYou know that one where they acknowledge that deadly force is already a legal option inside one's home, but then they say passing this law could lead to the tragedy of some drunk being shot for sleeping on a couch in the wrong house. Calls they claim to get every year. Shouldn't these people already have been tragically shot to death if there was any validity to their stated fear.
Funny how a trained journalist didn't notice that glaring inconsistency. Probably too busy carrying water.
Like the ABC news story the other night on Texas's Castle Doctrine law. They suggested we should sit down and talk to home invaders instead of shooting them. Hahahaha
ReplyDeleteIt was a joke wasn't it??
Hey, it's NBC. They have long since abandoned integrity and ethics for advocacy and ideology.
ReplyDeleteThe others aren't far behind.
Well, since a drunk sleeping on my couch will have had to make it through 1-2 locked portals, past my, rather large dog, and likely past me, since I tend to respond with the dog. I just don't see it happening.
ReplyDeleteBesides, I have seen way too many belligerent drunks to think that a drunk on your couch is safe.
