"An Innocent Mistake"

Officers from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives barged into a South Florida home Wednesday only to discover they had the wrong address.
The tradition of excellence continues. But let a gun dealer have a paperwork glitch, and it's a "willful violation" worthy of closing him down.

Hey, where's famous BATFU spokeflack Thomas Mangan? He's always trying to promote his career by getting his mug in front of a microphone whenever they have something they want to crow about.

Hey Tom: What's with "No one from the ATF would speak to NBC 6 on camera..."?

Even if we let you wear one of these?

  1. Being an individual with "nothing to hide", my assumption on hearing my door kicked down would be that someone was there to harm my family. Unfortunately, the gunfire directed at them from a back bedroom would likely reinforce their decision to be there, instead of causing them to rethink the question of which house they were supposed to barge into to begin with.

I'm waiting for the day when a group of these urban ninjas kicks down the wrong door, finds themselves under fire from the homeowner, returns fire, and kills everyone inside.

Is that what it's going to take for this insanity to stop?

  2. Paul, Hasn't that pretty much already happened?

  3. I'm waiting for a scenerio like that presented in BTP's Molon Labe where the fictional homeowner was well armed, well prepared, and gave an excellent accounting of himself!

While I generally support LEO's, these clowns have long ago moved into the territory of "jack-booted thugs".

  4. Any "law" that needs to be "enforced" should not be a law.

  5. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't that picture remind you of a hamas criminal from the middle east?

  6. Google "Corey Maye" OR "Cory Maye"

He's been convicted of murder for defense in a wrong address raid.

  7. It may have been a mistake, but it wasn't innocent. They assaulted people with tear gas and firearms while criminally negligent in their duty to get the right address.

That would be a crime for anybody else and so it is for them, also.

Jail time or on the spot retribution is all that is going to stop this crap. As things stand there is no down side for them killing innocent people. That they did not kill anybody here is the anomaly, not the other way around.

  8. Waco
    Ruby Ridge
    Deja Vu all over again.
Things like this are why when I see news coverage of that compound takeover in Texas I reserve judgement on the truth of the accusations being spouted by law enforcement.
Randy Weaver failed to appear (Because they mailed him the wrong court date)
David Koresh was manufacturing NFA weapons and abusing young girls. (no evidence other than hearsay and paid informants)
Yes, there will be further "mistakes" and one will eventually turn into another bloodbath. And there will be some story told about how evil the dead civilian was. But there is no longer any expectation of credibility for such blame from me or most of the folks who are paying attention.

  9. I remember this picture. It was published during the DC Sniper days.

I remember thinking that if I drove up to a roadblock that had masked gunmen there, that I would either turn around or blow right through, depending on the circumstances.

What is the REASON for the anonymity?

There IS NO GOOD REASON, other than fear & intimidation.

  11. I thought only bad guys wore masks.
Oh, silly me he's a BATFU and is a bad guy!
OBTW- AP ammo awaits the crashers in the night.
