Dozens of illegal guns seized in raid on commodities trader's home in Lake Forest
Breathe easy, Marquette Park! The commodity trader threat has been eliminated.
Anybody ever hear of this guy? I ask, because when I hear about rich guys having guns, I can't help but wonder if they ever did anything to help out...
Regardless, note an arrest is not a conviction, and he is owed a presumption of innocence. To take away his guns before that happens based on a domestic squabble is just plain unAmerican. But note how the "Authorized Journalists" just couldn't help bringing up that he was "upset about flooding at his residence following a water-main break," as if anybody wouldn't be. But it does help them cement his image in the public mind as a dangerous and violent person with anger management issues--and an armed one at that!

One thing the story leaves out, how did the government find out about the firearms.
ReplyDeleteThe guy set himself up by living in such a state as IL.
Keep in mind folks, if you buy any firearms from one of the manufactures from IL. Part of the money you paid went to arresting this man. These gun makers pay a lot of money in taxes and that money is used to attack the Second Amendment. You get what you pay for.
If any gun owner has a manhood problem and wants to not lose his Second Amendment rights. He better get into some anger management classes. He also would be well served staying away from alcohol as well. There are no second chances if someone gets a DV rap, they are disarmed for life.
Accused of a misdemeanor? That's all it takes. The police always want longer lists, too.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's meant to make "common-sense gun laws" sound good...
Avgjoe, I bought a DS Arms FN-FAL a while back, and I also intend to buy a Springfield Armory M-1A in the near future, so your comment about supporting tyranny applies to me.
ReplyDeleteBut I also own guns from manufacturers in Colorado, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Ohio, and California. They have agents of repression working in those governments, too.
And what about the Russian-made guns I own? What about my German WWII Mauser? My Chinese guns?
Yes, my purchase puts money in the pockets of repressive government agents.
So, what do you suggest that I do? Can you give me a list of politically correct manufacturers? Are there any pure governments and gunmakers that you know of?
I'm not saying you are wrong, avgjoe. I'm saying that your view is simplistic, because ALL of my tax money goes to repressive government agents, whether it's Federal, State, or local, income or sales tax.
The systems we have built over the last 200 years are now so complex that there's simply no way to avoid it.
So...in about 2002 I was awakened in the night by my live in girlfriend. She was pulling my hair and literally pulled me out of bed by it. She was angry because she thought I was sleeping around (which I wasn't). She punched me in the face, I grabbed her wrists, she called her mom, the cops came and arrested me. She made sure to tell them about my shotgun under the bed. The Huntington Beach police decided to take that, why I don't know. It was in a case under the bed and had nothing to do with our incident. So, just because they arrested me (innocent until proven guilty right?) they gave me a restraining order. I feared the court and didn't have money for a trial lawyer so I plead to disturbing the peace. No problem...went on with my life and after my probation was over (3 years) I called HBPD to retrieve my weapon...."Sorry, we destroyed it. Any weapon confiscated in a domestic dispute is destroyed in two years." What?
ReplyDeletedjk, your experience is the reason why I'll never live with a woman, girlfriend or not. I refuse to give anyone that kind of power over me.
ReplyDeleteHe had an FOID card. Ergo he was the owner of firearm(s). His card was pulled because of an alleged incident of domestic abuse. Any firearm, now, in his possession is a felony. The "only ones" now have PC for a no-knock-warrant. Jack-booted thugs strike again.
ReplyDeleteOBTW...He had better kiss his firearms goodbye. He's never getting them returned.
