McCain Pledges More Infringements

But I believe an accurate, fair and instant background check at guns shows is a reasonable requirement. I also oppose efforts to require federal regulation of all private sales such as the transfer between a father and son or husband and wife. I supported campaign finance reform because I strongly believed our system of financing campaigns was influencing elected officials to put the interests of "soft money" donors ahead of the public interest.

And not one person "Booed"?

  1. "And not one person booed?"

Yes, David, EXACTLY. I would like to hear from some gunnies in the NRA audience about what they heard. This is the subject of my next essay, "Loophole," but at the risk of tipping my hand I'd just like to ask any NRA pukes out there (and I long ago gave up my membership in that sellout bunch) WHY was this guy invited in the first place?

    From the AP story:

"He added that, as president, he would sign a law that prohibited individuals from buying guns at a gun show without going through the same checks as those buying guns at regular stores."

He wants government control of all private firearms sales! That's what his "loophole" is all about. Not even King George III was THAT grasping. It's like an urbane and sophisticated Hitler addressing a crowd of German Jews, telling them "I'm not going to persecute you as much as the OTHER guy, so vote for me." Jeez leweez, can't these NRA idiots SEE THAT?!?!?

And many no doubt applauded anyway. WHEN ARE THESE BASTARDS GOING TO SEE THAT IF YOU HAVE RIGHTS THAT OTHER PEOPLE WANT TO TAKE YOU HAVE TO FIGHT FOR THEM? Hell, they won't even be IMPOLITE to the gungrabbing SOBs.

  2. Many "gun bloggers" are there now. Some of their posts make me want to puke.

They are the problem. No real backbones.A couple "upgraded" passes and a smile from the secret service makes them all giddy with delight.

(search people of the gun to see)

  3. Yes, Chris, I know. Those are the "pragmatists". When pointed out to them that they are betraying the stance they "claim", they insult you, and allow others to do so. When treated in the same manner they ban you. Your voice on the issue "must not be heard". Else you could jeopardize their kneewalk to kiss the boots of their oppressors, in the name of "pragmatism", of course.

Been there, done that, have fond memories of their fear of truth and the truthful. More than once.

  4. I know that YOU know there are states where people cannot inherit guns without taking them to the police station, getting them REregistered in their name instead of the bequeather, sometimes even being required to apply and WAIT for a permit to own them before they can take possession.
Gun rights scholars say this is one reason guns did not appear often on household inventories. They were passed hand to hand to heirs without government knowledge, the way it should be.
McCain SAYS all that shouldn't be required nationally, but he's grading the road to it nice and smooth, and building the on-ramp. It's a short road, too. And then, hey, citizen what do you already have? Fill out this form.
    We'll take that rather seriously.

  5. I'll give the traitor McCain credit - he appears to have stood on his record and promised even more.

And the gutless masses took it and begged for more.

    Damn....

Many people need the chain and the lash.

Freedom - true freedom - is simply too much for their little hearts and minds to handle.

And of course, if they can't handle it, no one else should be given the opportunity to live as God intended.

It is much easier to break mirrors that reflect shortcomings than to address and correct by internal struggle and growth.

We are going to need a domestic equivalent for the Norwegian term "quisling" before too much longer.

    Anyone for "LaPierre"?

  6. Of course he stands on his record, so nobody can open it and read it.

  8. I was one of the gunbloggers who attended the forum.

Reports of enthusiastic support from the crowd are a bit embellished. The quote David posted was early in his speech and it started a slow but steady exodus from the hall.

Yes the attendees were polite. They were normal, hardworking Americans who took the only chance they had to see what he had to say. These folks are not protester, they expect things to be right.

The general mood leaving the hall was one of disappointment verging on disgust.

No one "took it and begged for more". The rank and file is not happy as evidenced by the general rush for the doors as Wayne LaPierre took the podium.
