A Public/Private Partnership

Representatives from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Memphis-based community groups, public officials, local law enforcement and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) -- the non-profit trade association for the firearms industry -- today jointly announced a major campaign to reduce significantly the illegal straw purchases of firearms in Memphis.

Just one big happy alliance...

  1. What a crock. Memphis is a border town: Arkansas across the river and Mississippi just down the road. It's easier to acquire a firearm in either place than Memphis.

    Another stinking lie.

  2. Shooting SPORTS Foundation. Those three words say a lot.
If you're a shooting SPORTSperson, you won't mind getting your name on a list, a less-than-Instant Background Check (How about 13 days?) and a wait to pick up your gun (how about 13 days?); registering your ammunition; having ammunition rationed to you (How often do you practice? And which range would that be at? Uh huh); being limited to .410-gauge shotgun. A shotgun is a shotgun, right? It's just targets. I'm sure you can think of other ways to keep SPORTING gun owners out of trouble and save the world.

  3. Another case of being hanged with the rope you cheerfully brought along. Idiots!
