The Spoiler

A fiery former GOP congressman who gained national prominence for doggedly pursuing impeachment of President Clinton has some Republicans worried he'll play spoiler in a tight presidential contest.

Well, unless he and the LP man up and answer some questions, they'll get no help from me.

I can only interpret their lack of response to my inquiries as intentional. On matters of fundamental rights, that is unworthy of any candidate or organization that bills itself as "libertarian."

  1. I was afraid that Barr, on the NRA advisory board, was too compromising.

  2. David makes a good point about receiving help from gun owners. Fact of the matter is the LP knows gun owners want some answers to the question of Barr's helping Frank Lautenburg with his hateful attacks on the United States Constitution. The LP or Bob Barr act like the questions on this topic have never been asked hoping we will go away.
I say we make as much noise as we can and keep getting louder and louder as voting day draws closer.
If this is the way the LP party and Bob Barr are going to treat people then I would for the first time feel better about voting for McCain.
One thing that can be said for McCain and this means a lot. When he was a POW and his dad was the top dog for the Navy. The NVA offered him a way out by signing a few papers saying what he did was wrong. He refused saying it would be unfair for the other POW's if he got a get of of jail card because of his dad. He refused to sign and stayed in that hell hole for many more years. Yea, I don't like McCain but I have to give credit where its due and the actions of the LP and Bob Barr are pathetic cowards by refusing to answer reasonable questions that shouldn't be any kind of problem to answer and deserve to be answer.
Bob Barr is going to fall flat on his face election day and will take down the LP party at the same time.

  3. Well, I have to wonder about a movement or party whose chief proponent writes apologetics for Communist China and attacks the U.S. when an incident occurs between the U.S. and the PRC.

Somehow it seemed to escape Lew Rockwell that the PRC murders people by the millions, and it was (and is) never challenged internally.

At least we can (and should) still demand some accountability from the U.S. government.

This is a philosophical and political influence on Bob Barr? Moreover, he assisted Lautenburg in attempting to destroy our rights?

I was already uncomfortable with Ron Paul's too benign view of Russia and the PRC. But at least Paul was correct on 2A, and he is honest. That made it bearable.

    This is unbearable.

  4. The LP has its own share of pragmatists, the like of which plagues the gun rights movement.

  5. forget the LP. barr's being propped on a pole for the selfish interests of one too many idealistic college kids, trying to get some counterculture attention, or something. it'll self-correct (barring TSHTF (no pun intended)) -- the ron paul campaign for liberty works outside and above the various party demarcation lines.

    if we're lucky, politics

  6. whoops.

...politics will be completely revamped from a dilletante's ball back to the science of constructing and maintaining a subservient government in my lifetime (i'm under 30).

  7. Barr will be doing the O'Reilly radio show on June 24 at 12 PM, maybe a bunch of us can call in with the questions needing answers and get them answered.

He has a few other radio shows scheduled, if he refuses to give a straight answer we could keep hounding him.
