Three Air Force officers fell asleep while in control of an electronic component that contained old launch codes for nuclear intercontinental ballistic missiles, a violation of procedure, Air Force officials said Thursday.I wonder if there's a government trusting us with weapons tie-in here...?

I am the NCOIC of the armory in my AF unit. We have combat rifles and pistols, along with some specialized equipment for our EOD folks. One of the things I am required to accomplish every time I open the door is a 100% inventory on what we have inside. Anytime we have someone depart who requires a weapon, we update our inventory sheet to reflect that point. Should I fail in that regard, you can guaran-goddamn-tee my behind would be nailed to the nearest vertical surface. This is unexcuseable in my opinion, regardless of whether they were old codes or not. These officers need to be held accountable for their actions and not given a slap on the wrist and told to stand in the corner for 15 minutes.
ReplyDeleteThey are trained David. Remember that.
ReplyDeleteI'm not trained and you're not either. Therefore, we are not to be trusted.
Please don't look behind the curtain.
