Blog of the Week

Armed and Safe.

If he has one fault he needs correction on, 45superman is too modest. Ideologically, it is a place I always feel at home, and he manages to find stories of interest and get to the heart of the matter with insightful appraisals.

If you live in Illinois, this blog is an essential read, as he's on top of what's happening there like few others. And if you live anywhere else, you'll find much in terms of information, news and commentary that affect us all no matter where we live.

This certainly deserves to be a daily stop.

  1. Wow, David--I'm actually blushing (bet that's not what you had in mind).

    Thank you.

  2. I know a whole group of good folk in Illinois that value 45superman's insightful commentary.

We've tried to correct his 'defect', but he's incorrigible.

  4. David, you made an excellent choice this week. Armed and Safe always provides substantive material to read on a regular basis.

When I began doing the Second Amendment News Roundup about a year ago, Armed and Safe was one of the first blogs I linked to. It is still one of my favorites today and one which gunnies definitely want to read.

  5. There are few things more valuable than the respect of people for whom one has great admiration.

I hope to some day live up to that respect.

    Once again, thank you.

  6. See, there he goes with that blasted modesty again.

Dude, you've already lived up to our respect. If you hadn't, we wouldn't be saying so--that is, unless you think guys like me and Straightarrow and Mr. Lloyd-Morgan have a track record for saying things we don't mean in order to fawn and curry for favor...

Well, me and D. Martyn, anyway. We all know how hesitant to rock boats SA has always been, what with his continually mincing words and walking on eggshells...:)

Yeah--I noticed that about him. Why can't he just come out and say what he means ;-)?

By the way, I had meant to comment on this:

Ideologically, it is a place I always feel at home . . .

Well, you oughtta feel at home--you've had more than a little influence on that. Before reading you, I was largely content to accept what the NRA feeds us as about the best we could hope for. I didn't necessarily like it, but I thought it was necessary to be "pragmatic" (i.e., willing to sell out).

Between you and SA, I came as close as is likely to happen in my case to growing a pair.

If I read much more of Vanderboegh's stuff, I might start thinking that said pair is big enough to put to use some time.

  8. The thing is, if more of us realized the power of greater numbers refusing to compromise, and then acted like they realized it, the likelihood of ever putting Vanderboegh's stuff to use would diminish. The stronger we are, the less likely we are to be victims of predation. It's a simple fact of Nature.

  9. Well, you've convinced me, David, which presumably means you've also convinced folks who are bolder (not to mention able-bodied).

    Keep doing what you're doing.

  10. Aw shucks, guys. You know how shy and reticent I am.

Seriously, I read Kurt everyday, I don't comment often simply because he leaves so little unsaid and commenters have not yet been clueless in any sufficient numbers to warrant much response.

    One sharp dude.
