Britain on Alert!

Senior police officers have been warned to look out for a new knife which can inject a ball of compressed gas into its victim that instantly freezes internal organs.

The 'wasp knife', which can deliver a ball of compressed gas capable of killing its victim at the press of a button, may be heading for Britain, the Metropolitan Police fear.
Then again it may not be. They haven't found any, there have been no incidents of abuse, and they have absolutely nothing to base headline-grabbing hysteria on other than it exists. That and Khalid Mahmood thinks they're "absolutely disgraceful."

Here's the Wasp Knife website. Watch the watermelon video. Talk about cool.

I want one. Before the panty-wringers here find out about them. And BATFU adds conversion parts and declares them machineguns.

  1. Interesting. But it looks like it will rip a person apart, rather than freeze one from the inside out.

  2. It appears that the gas is injected into the tissue creating a massive wound channel and disrupting/displacing the internal organs.

  3. The freezing is an effect of releasing compressed gas into lower pressure.

  4. Maybe this gizmo can in fact disable a bear (which is an awful lot bigger than a watermelon), and I'd never begrudge anyone an inno--well, unique, anyway--idea. But personally, I'll let others get within grappling distance. A 500+ grain .45/70 works just fine from a lot further out.

Although, ya know...maybe it's all in the marketing..."Airbag! It's a knife with an airbag!"

  5. Of course it will, David. That's basic air conditioner principles. This just looks like it will blow you apart before tissues can freeze in the cold gas.

  6. Until I visited the website, I thought they were talking about a CO2-powered cork remover.
