The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Police held a conference Monday and Tuesday on one of the worst possible threats any campus can face — an active shooter...Notice no active shooters appeared. I wonder if the "Only Ones" had their service weapons with them?

Jargon has always fascinated me, given that it's just another way for groups to separate themselves. Sometimes it actually serves a purpose - I can say "ex parte" or I can say "contact with the court by one side, without the other side being present, in regard to an issue before the court." "Ex parte" is simpler.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, I have to wonder what an "active shooter" is. Would this be as opposed to the passive type? Sedentary? Is it notice to the various Cetaceans On Patrol that the may have to actually drop the donut so as to better chase after the guy.
