"We can have him arrested for menacing or stalking," Huntley said of Jimmy, signaling a possible new confrontation in the streets. "For too long, we've been abused by the public and the media. We're not going to be a punching bag anymore in New York City."Yeah, and if he resists, you can kill him! Imagine, having the nerve to document "Only Ones" breaking the law! And the gall of his doing it assertively! Who does this...this uppity civilian think he is?
So you're admitting to being part of a criminal conspiracy to deprive a citizen of his human rights under color of authority? And you're counting on Liberty Lynchin' Patrick of "lift a finger and die" notoriety to be provide the strong-arm enforcement?

Sounds like they have SOMETHING TO HIDE to me......
ReplyDeleteThey should take a knee and thank whatever god they believe in (I think his name is Bloom-something) that it's only CAMERAS.
ReplyDeletePeople are TIRED.
It was when the news started showing film of the Vietnam War that people really got motivated to end it. Regardless of one's opinion of the wisdom of the decision, when people SEE something rather than read about it, they make an emotional connection.
The man who taped a warrantless search of his neighbor's yard from in his own yard... he got tasered, didnt he? Tackled after he fell off the little ridge he was standing on, too. Didn't obey ORDERS to put the camera away. That's ALL.
They can expect more eyes on them. If they retaliate, they can expect less cooperation than ever. Quite the opposite.
Public servant, public place, cameras OK. We're not all David Olofson: "I didn't do anything wrong, but I'll go quietly."
Standard NYC response: You catch us at something, we'll assault you until you stop. We'll harrass you until you stop. Us? Our sh*t don't stink, whaddayou talking about?
ReplyDeleteThat whiny bitch Huntley actually said they have been abused?
ReplyDeleteHow the Hell do these people not vomit by just being them?
Here's a question for the pragmatic, and I am dead serious about it. This isn't snark. I really don't know where you stand on this issue or what you think should be the response.
Since this tactic of taping LE misbehaving insults them and makes them angry and unresponsive to our concerns, would you advocate for continuing to do so? Would you advocate for apologizing and ceasing the exposure since they believe such is unreasonable? Would you support the killing, maiming or arresting by police of anyone who tapes them committing illegal acts? After all, it does upset them and they consider the principles freaks radical and dangerous and they scare the blue people.
Those are serious questions. Where do you guys stand? Or are there differences in the prag camp?
Just for the sake of these few questions in my attempt to learn where you are on this issue, could we forego a listing of my many shortcomings in place of the answers to the questions? Just this once?
Just a good thing that the citizens don't have guns right?
ReplyDeleteI mean in 1984 they didn't have guns for a reason. The government fears it when armed citizens are fed up with government and its failure to follow its rules set forth by its Constitution/Bill of Rights/Etc.
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
ReplyDeleteAs always, the answer is We the People.
I didn't think I could get a prag's take on this. BFS.
