"My gun went off" is what you yell upstairs to your sister to let her know the bang she heard doesn't mean you're dead. For a professional law officer, that's insufficient explanation. He broke at least two of the gun safety rules. Had a penetrating wound and hit someone else as well. "It fired" sounds like a multiple murderer saying he's sorry for "what happened." Citizens are darn well responsible for where every bullet goes, they tell US over and over. Imaging telling th investigating cop "It just went off."

No such thing as an AD with the safety measures built into todays guns. Its 99.9% a NEGLIGENT DISCHARGE!
