Essential Standards

The Police Department here shut down its crime laboratory on Thursday after an audit uncovered serious errors in numerous cases. The audit said sloppy work had probably resulted in wrongful convictions, and officials expect a wave of appeals in cases that the laboratory processed...

The inspection found that the laboratory’s firearms unit was in compliance with just 42 percent of “essential standards"...
One word: Detroit.

The areas in this country with the heaviest government influence and controls are so screwed up. Why on earth would anyone propose more of it for us all as the solution?

Oh.

  1. Sloppy is a code word for "engineering". The government parasites engineered the evidence to fit the crime for a conviction. This is done so the arrest and conviction rate is good so they, the parasites can get a higher job grade to make more money and retire with more money. There's no question about this being criminal but who would be the one to protect the citizens from such criminal activities, LOL!
Meanwhile we have people sitting in prison for crimes that were committed against them by government parasites. This same government will let them stay in prison because its not about to do the right thing and never had any intent of doing the right thing.

  2. Well, for good or ill, every person convicted of a crime with evidence processed by that lab now has legitimate grounds for an appeal and can probably get any evidence "tainted" by them ruled inadmissable.

  3. Once again, where is the incentive for an innocent man to peacefully submit to trial?
