You can almost hear the thought process behind Madonna's red-carpet footwear. "OK, those pesky tabloids won't stop with my whole divorce thing and my film's about to get panned. What can I do to take the heat off? I know - gun shoes! That'll get them talking." [More]
What ought "to get them talking" is the hypocrisy of the Material Gorn, shown here hind-claw in Lagerfeld.
Be funny if she wore these in a locale that bans replica guns and one of her fellow travelers called the snitch line...
It'd also be funny if fashionable Karl had to install bright orange tips in some markets or paint the heels fluorescent in others...
UPDATE: Here's a clearer look...the replica gun heels look pretty realistic--I'll bet if she separated them from the shoe she could knock over a liquor store with them.
And true to form, her PSH partners in citizen disarmament are shocked, shocked...
I am horrified that Madonna can see these shoes as fashion. As a mother herself I would have thought that she would have paused for a second and thought about all the young people here and in her own country that have died because of gun crime. She should have thought about all the young people that have died because of gun crime. We need the whole of society to take responsibility and action in stopping the glamorization of weapons. Celebrities have a massive part to play and an icon like Madonna should have more sense. It’s uncaring. Surely she reads the news and realizes that young people are dying every day.
But here's the thing--the story says she wore them to her movie premiere in New York.
Well, well, well...
These guns will have the FULL ORANGE TIP as required by Federal Law.Somebody call BATFU! Somebody call Furious Mike!
In accordance with New York State law, these guns are available for shipment to the state of New York except in New York City.
Or is there a different set of laws for rich anti-gun celebrities? (And they say there are no stupid questions...)
I think it's a statement of what she wants to do to gun rights and owners. If I remember my Catholic upbringing right, the symbolism is outrageous. Mary, the Mother of G*d is often depicted in statues with her foot on a serpents head, to signify Christs' triumph over sin and the devil, as referenced in Isaiah. Her name, Madonna, is inferred in most of the 20th century as being the Virgin Marys' title. So her, with her heel on the gun, symbolizes the antis triumph over guns and owners. She has appeared on stage on a cross, as part of her act. All of it is blasphemous, and all of it designed to produce attention and outrage. All she is, is a skank.
ReplyDeleteWhat about all the childred who have been killed with shoes? Does no one cry for them.
ReplyDeleteShe HATES Sarah Palin. All else aside, it showsalong with other libtard women, that SP scares them indeed. She is everything they are not.
ReplyDeleteIn California, public display of an authentic looking replica is an infraction with a $100 fine. That'll be $200 Madonna! (Hey,with a $20 billion deficit, every cent counts!)
ReplyDeleteLoL you killed me with that Gorn post.... I own that VHS episode
Hmmm, telling that the "news" of her marriage ending point to her being a control freak. None of us would have EVER assumed that, right?
ReplyDeleteDidn't they have a fox hunt or something? Guns for me and not for thee.
Pass a law making body guards illegal and just WATCH how fast these aholes change their "minds."
Wasn't she a shooter for a few years early in her marriage with Guy Ritchie? I remember photos of her with a shotgun. He taught her wingshooting and she became proficient hunting upland game birds for a few years.
ReplyDeleteYes, they even imported pheasants, but then she finally put two and two together-- and in a moment of inspired awareness that did not involve her bank account, her phony English accent (which I presume she'll now drop) or her crotch-- finally figured out that shooting birds causes them to die violently and bleed and everything.
ReplyDeleteSo she renounced it.
Besides, if being an enthusiastic shooter was all it took to join the fellowship, we'd all be pals with Lon Horiuchi.
not me David, I don't pal around with murderers. Especially not cowardly murderers who shoot women from hiding.
ReplyDeleteHear that Lon? Never will you be considered by me to be man enough to be tolerated.
