One of the most distressing things about modern America is the total lack of understanding about how an individual’s thinking (and hence behavior) affect society and contribute to the destruction of the United States. Today, it is not just communists that think like communists, but fundamental and evangelical Christians as well. Why? Because they have accepted communist ideas, without understanding those ideas and movements in society were and are utilized by communists to achieve certain goals.
Paul W. Davis charts "progress."
The Right claims that we are a Center/Right Country...I think that is true, but the problem is that the Center has been drifting Left.
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to point that out to Christians for some time now. But as long as they are under the delusion that God has annointed "our" democratic government there is probably nothing you can say to them.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking as a Christian, perhaps I am an exception. But I do know many fellow believers who understand freedom. Not just paying lip service to 'Freedom in Christ', but also that freedom is inextricable tied to the rule of law rather than rule of men; that we were founded as a constitutional republic, and *not* a democracy with majority rule;that 'annointed' is too strong a word...but better expressed as 'blessed' with a truly unique form of government that maximizes individual freedom.
ReplyDeleteI think you will find that many among us "Restorationists", us three percenters, there are many Christians who under no such delusions.
That said, I think Mr. Skousen misses the mark on at least a few points. For example, would number 35 really be a bad thing? And on number 42, it's possible that it's just poorly worded, but is he implying that bringing a tyrannical gov't back in line through force (or credible threat of force) is not exactly the purpose of 2A?
Point being that just because something is part of the communist agenda, doesn't discredit it. As the saying goes, even a broken clock is right twice day.
I'm not especially impressed with this document. First of all, Mr. Skousen doesn't identify which communists he's talking about. Chinese communists are a world apart from Soviet communists, and they in turn are a completely different beast from North Korean communists. And of course he provides no sources for any of his claims. I spend 3 years in Moscow ('86-'89) and while some of the points were true, many of them were absolutely not true.
ReplyDeleteFankly, it comes off as a bit of McCarthyism. Sort of a "there are communists hiding in the closet, waiting for you to fall asleep!" It doesn't seem to have any credibility at all.
However, I will agree with the premise that the modern 'Christian Right' seems to be ignoring the things that made America great in the first place. There's such a great emphasis on religion, it at times it forgets God also gave us free will, the power to choose what you personally don't agree with. Christianity is becoming synonymous with intolerance, which I don't think was Jesus' message. I think the current Christian right has far more in common with classic fascism than it does with communism.
Pseudo-Christians, faithless Christians, Christian critics, and just plain hostile-to-everything Christian, and Communist apologists. I wish you all the luck. Yes, Christians are all communists, facists, child murdering scumbag filth. I wonder, when you all are done discrediting people who are trying to follow their G*d, and fighting so hard against a Christ you have never believed in, do you rest? Don't bother to reply, I have no point to make. I have nothing to say against you. I realize that the faithlessness of this age, and those who set themselves up as their own god, to propose nothing, to stand for nothing, to believe nothing, to love nothing, are the rulers of our age. I am grateful to the G*d who made me, and I pity you.
ReplyDeleteSean are you Jewish?
ReplyDeleteNope. But a member of JPFO. I saw that Aaron Zellman and others spell G*d with the asterick, both as a sign of respect, and of humility to G*d. Thought it a good example to follow, as it is written, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. I apolgize to Kent in advance, for saying anything about my faith.
ReplyDeleteI have never said that "Christians are all communists, facists, child murdering scumbag filth". Instead, I think most Christians are OK people precisely because they ignore Christianity in their daily lives.
ReplyDeleteI do think that many of them cling to government as a surrogate god, but that seems to be a common affliction. It certainly is not limited to Christians.
I have no problem with anyone saying anything about their faith, only with those who try to impose their faith on others using governmental coercion.
I never said you said that, Kent. I said it. And something else you got wrong. Most Christians are ok people because they do NOT ignore Christianity in their daily lives. I admire you Kent, because your mind is not wrapped up in the mush that infects so many people in the US. Whatever you DO think is ok with me. But what you DON'T know about Christianity would fill a library, so would you please let it go, and either explore it or ignore it, but stop pretending you know something about it, because you don't. Moslems impose their "faith", on pain of death. Christians invite, and that's it. I know there have been myriad of abuses in the past, but forced conversions to Christianity have not occurred for more than 200 yrs, in Western civilization. And yes, you do have a problem. It ain't me.
