I Still Want to Know...

...what would happen if you played some of these through a loudspeaker...

And hey:

Nothing like scrambling after the fact to get to the crime scene after the damage has been done, is there?

I guess the prospect of citizens being able to prevent it from becoming a crime scene in the first place doesn't figure into those public safety/social cost considerations...which is probably why "may issue" also means "may not."

  1. 32 miles for 8,000,000 whats the yearly upkeep on this? are there additional fees per year?

if you paid a police officer 90,000 a year in salary you could hire 22 additional officers for 4 years.

    90,000 X 22 = 1,980,000
    1,980,000 X 4 = 7,920,000
    whats the cost benefit?

"The department would like to expand the initial coverage area, but with the cost at $250,000 for each additional square mile, it will take some time. Springfield has an area of 32 square miles."

  2. Now the 90,000 figure was pulled from thin air, i don't know how much a typical officer makes. I thought 90,000 sounds like vary generous compensation but i might be wrong.

  3. $1.98 per year is very generous compensation for parasites. Just let people take care of themselves without risking arrest instead of making your city more "policed".

  4. Springfield Massachusetts? All units: we have multiple gunshots and multiple armed suspects at 299 Page Boulevard!

  5. Of course the best part of the article is this
"The system has yet to net any arrests, Delaney said, but he is confident that will change. "It's just a matter of time," he said."
But they are convinced if they just do it a little harder it will work....

I frequently wonder the same thing myself especially if I pumped up the volume at 4 AM along the railroad tracks where some of our alternative lifestyle urban campers make their home.
