Let the Gloating Begin

Election Night Results So Far: Common Sense On Guns Confirmed
It's gonna get worse before it gets better. And it will get louder and more raucous, more in-your-face and bolder. We'll see the statists show even less grace in victory than they do in defeat. That's what spiritually ugly people do.

I do wonder though, how many of our "leaders" will hold to the conviction that our hope for change is exclusively the province of majority rule, or if rallying cries for resistance will emanate from more polite quarters than, say, here...?

Or are we going to continue down the path of caving on principle, disparaging those who won't, and surrendering to the perceived least offensive compromiser...?

Seems to me, now is the time to send the GOP a message, loud and clear: This is what happens when you abandon core principles. If you intend to regain center stage, you're going to need to actually become leaders in liberty.

That is, if you believe it's not too late, or if there's any chance such a message will get through and be taken to heart.

There is one unintended consequence to all this: Look for fear to become a potent tool for increasing "gun lobby" membership rolls. Thing is, we need to ask ourselves how much of that leadership deserves the windfall, and if it'll do anything besides solidify some cushy gigs.

It's always been "too late" for this. When you abandon self government and trust to others to govern your life, you will always be at their mercy, and they will always take full advantage of that. This is the lesson of ALL history, no exceptions.

If we wish to live in peace and liberty, not just talk about it, we must all govern ourselves each and every day, in every way, rather than trust that these "leaders" can or will administer the lives of others so that self government is not necessary.

I alone am owner of this person. I alone am responsible for all the choices and actions taken. When I abdicate that, in the least, I become a slave to the one to whom I give that control.

Hard as it is to accept for some, there are only two choices:
    Individual sovereign or slave.

I have already chosen for myself, so it is irrelevant to me which slavemaster others have "elected."

    Liberty or death...

NO it is not time to send a message to the GOP. The GOP of Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater is gone. It is time to stop pretending that the GOP represents us. The GOP is the Menshevik branch of the Socialist Party.

Last night we witnessed the 1860 election all over again.

Keep your powder dry and may God help us.

  3. The Brady Bunch remind me of the rooster who crows just before dawn and concludes that when the sun rises, it is because he has commanded it to do so.

As for what we must now do, I have just sent out a new essay called, Resolve. Enjoy.

  4. No fear, friends. So what if half the voters and 3/4 of the Electoral College are traitors to our Constitution? We are the best-armed and educated population on the planet. We just need to get over reading about raids on gun owners and saying "Whew! Glad it wasn't ME!"
    They are us.
We can invoke zero tolerance too.

  5. And yes, the Republican party left me and my liberty years ago. Not forcing the issue on the Klinton impeachment, no consequences for the Waco massacre, Bush/PATRIOT Act... It's a long list. When there's practically no difference, why worry about the outcome? Carry on as usual.
One thing that DOES scare me is, some people said they would vote for Obama because "I can understand what he says."
He talks a lot, but he says NOTHING.
Well, some people do seem to understand... nothing.

  7. After the results came in last night, I joined the NRA. It may not be much, but it is better than nothing. Maybe my membership will help control some of the idiots that don't understand the 2nd Amendment. Not holding my breath though!

  8. Anon- OK, you joined the NRA. Now why not consider joining a pro-gun organization as well... like JPFO or GOA.

  9. Screw the NRA.

They've supported every piece of gun control legislation since their inception.
