This Blog is Lightworker Approved

Barack Obama's choice for Attorney-General, Eric Holder, has stated that he favors 'reasonable restrictions' on free speech on the Internet.
It reminds me of that line from "The Menagerie" in the original Star Trek:
Wrong thinking is punishable.
Right thinking will be as quickly rewarded.
"Reasonable restrictions." Where have we heard that before?

Change is a-comin'.

UPDATE: Correspondent TC sent me a link to Instapundit's post, which in turn links to The Volokh Conspiracy. The "context" does not persuade me, from a citizen militia standpoint, from a banning basic chemistry standpoint, and from a camel's nose under the tent standpoint.

Hey-- did you know that "Pouring Liquid Oxygen onto unlit charcoal will cause the charcoal to explode; each briquette will detonate with the force of one stick of dynamite"?

  3. Just waiting for the elimination of chem/physics courses from hs/colleges in the name of security. Only the progeny of the 'only ones' and their thoroughly vetted surrogates will have access to the power of knowledge...a new class of high priests will emerge...and we'll swallow this tripe as did the ancient peasants did when the on highs pretended to control the heavens...time to preserve those textbooks...I've even encountered one pinhead who would force us to prove need to know basis for acquisition of maps that show tall bldgs, transportation hubs or railroad and pipeline routes...get those google earth images before they're sanitized.

  4. Last Christmas a book titled The Dangerous Book for Boys, by Hal Iggulden was a hot seller.

I got one for my nephew, and then one for myself after looking through it.

LOTS of cool stuff in it,even for older boys like us....

  5. All one has to do in order to understand 'context' in such statements is to consider Barack Obama's behavior during the campaign, and statements made by members of his staff and Democrats on the Hill.

They detest anything being said about them that is negative or critical and will threaten, cajole, and harass such persons into silence.

The thin-skinned Obama made direct threats to at least a half-dozen TV stations for negative comments and for showing McCain-Palin ads that told the truth about his dubious associations.

And, when one considers what they plan to do with conservative talk radio, there is no doubt free speech will under attack as never before in the history of the Republic.

  6. No one needs to know this information, I think it would be "reasonable" to ban this page, maybe "re-educate" the authors....

  7. Joe, they may have already found a way to silence the authors. Did you notice the site has not been updated since 2004?

  8. Welcome to the new Dark Ages. Smart people are the "witches". We will be given the modern equivalent of a burning at the stake if we don't stand up for one another.

For now be thankful for thermite, aluminum dust, heck even grain dust in a proper dispersal does interesting things, oops, wheat shall now not be stored in qty more than one kilo...
