When Animals Attack

A Dunbar Police K-9 dog was shot and killed Monday evening after it fought with its handler's neighbor's dog in a rural part of Kanawha County, according to Police Chief Earl Whittington.

  1. Overall I agree with you, but the police chief felt, rightly, that the shooter had acted in self defense and so no prosecution will occur.

  3. Yeah, that was my take on the article: that the homeowner wasn't arrested and charged with killing the dog. Perhaps they haven't gotten around to granting Only One status to animals.
