  1. Bearcat needs to change his icon. This is what a real bearcat is:

Bearcat is a particular species of animal which is neither a bear nor a cat. It is a sloth-like mammal found in the forests of South-East Asia. The actual meaning of its name is however an unsolved mystery for all, since the civilization community which named the animal in their language is no longer found in the world. It is better known as Binturong.

Found in the canopies of the rain forests of Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Borneo and other South-Asian countries, the Bearcat, also known as the Malay Civet Cat, belongs to the animal family of Viverridae, genus Arctictis. The Binomial name given to this animal is Arctictis binturong. An average lifespan of this animal is approximately 20 years.

A Bearcat resembles somewhat to a bear in physical appearance, though on closer observation it looks like a small bushy dog. Its average length is about 60-96 cm and weighs around 9-14 kg. It has small round ears and black round eyes. The body of the animal is covered with thick black fur. Its most attractive feature is its long bushy tail, ranging as long as 55-90 cm.

These animals climb trees and can leap from one branch to another very easily, using its tail and claws. A Bearcat sleeps on branches during the daytime, that is to say, the animal is nocturnal. It primarily feeds on fruits but is actually omnivorous. At times it even feeds on small animals, rodents and birds.

Bearcat uses its bushy tail for communication purposes. It has a scent gland located under its tail, which sends out a scent similar to that of warm popcorn, thereby helping in locating the animal. In order to signal to other bearcats, it often howls or brushes its tail against branches of trees.

The Reproductive period for these animal species last up to 81 days and a gestation period, of the female Bearcat, up to 91 days. This animal is of the very few animal species which undergoes Embryonic Diapause during reproduction. This helps the embryo to develop only under favorable environmental and metabolic conditions. The female gives birth to offspring ranging from 2-6 at a time.

These animals are known to make a chuckling sound when happy and send out a loud scream when angry. The Bearcat can be vicious if cornered by an enemy. These animals are kept as domestic pets by the people belonging to the Orang Asli community residing in Malaysia.

However, the Bearcat population in the world in found to be decreasing at an alarmingly fast rate. This is mainly due to the on-going process of deforestation, that is, the cutting down of trees and forest for commercial and allied purposes. This species is counted in the endangered list also because of its wide scale poaching. The animal are often killed for its fur and for its use in various medicinal purposes. Binturong

  2. I do believe I have heard wolverines referred to as "bearcats". Either way, that "bearcat" is a predator, and probably rabid.

  4. My favorite bit of irony here is "Bearcat's" sig line:

"Back in my day, son.....A man had to answer for the wicked things he done.....

Above which he practically gives himself an aneurysm defending the wicked things Horiuchi did.

Yeah...Serving and protecting your ass off, that's the modern cop. It always gets me in the funnybone how indignant they get when somebody indicates he doesn't think they're the greatest thing since perforated toilet paper.

  5. Makes me real glad I don't know either of them. But they have brain-dead friends everywhere. Kent! Jesus! (runs around corner laughing like an idiot, hoping Kent doesn't catch him)

  6. Smoking the Koolaid again? ;)

    Just kidding, of course.

I don't run unless I have to. My legs are too long and get tangled up.

  7. Internet Flame Warriors: "Centurion":

"Centurion tries to gain tactical advantage in battle by asserting that he is, or was at one time, in the military. He affects the brusque demeanor and clipped style of a drill sergeant, and intimidates opponents by sprinkling his messages with military verbiage and obscure acronyms. He reinforces weak arguments by constantly reminding other Warriors that he has “done his duty”, or “served his country”. Sometimes Centurion may even post pictures of military hardware or images of himself in fatigues brandishing a weapon. Centurion may actually have a military background, or he may just be a nut case - no one really knows..."

  8. The few times I've seen threads on officer.com (or other LEO forums) have convinced me that the police in general are a dangerous threat to our liberties. Many, maybe most, would become killing agents of the state given half a chance.
    They are truly scary.

  9. The thing that get ME is the repeated assertion that "shit happens". OK, there's an argument for that point of view. I, personally, agree with it to the extent that I believe that the person primarily responsible (as in should have been charged with murder) was the imbecile who ordered the siege in the first place.

But WHEN shit happens, and you make a tragic mistake through no fault of your own that STILL makes you the antithesis of a poster boy for accurate rifle fire. No matter where you stand on the "shit happens" question, the guy is still an absolutely cement-headed choice for spokesman for a gun company.
