A name can reflect a state of mind or an ideology. Take, for instance, Gunslinger in Oak Lawn, Ill., or Ready On The Right in Kailua, Hawaii. Or you might choose to convey the threat implicit in the merchandise, with a name such as Ready Aim Fire in Bristol, Pa., or Smoking Barrels Guns in Lutz, Fla.Or we could just do things your way and set up local chapters of Slaves-Я-Us, you smug, historically-ignorant idiot.

What's in a Name?
From the Department of Pre-Crime
"And we've seen that, just getting a concealed carry permit, all that means is that you haven't committed a crime yet."--Daniel Vice, Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Ownership Senior AttorneyErgo, we are all criminals--some of us just haven't acted out on our evil impulses yet.
But wait a minute--if that means we all should be prohibited from bearing arms, what does that do to the Brady's new argument that Heller takes "slippery slope" concerns off the table?
Fortunately, those the Brady's would give a monopoly of lethal force to are immune to such human failings. We've proven that time and again here, haven't we?
Or could it be that paranoid projectionists like the aptly named Mr. Vice are manipulators and deceivers, that is, liars?

What the Hell, Let's Make 'em ALL Collective Rights
And the question is, is the individual’s right superior to society’s right? So in other words:
[T]he needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few...Or the one.And then distilling that nonsense into its true meaning:
From each, according to his ability; to each, according to his need.Ben thinks I ought to tear into this dopey grinning Marxist, quoted here, but I think he did a fine enough job already.

For the Children
Another gambit by anti-gun organizations is to include older teens and adults in their calculations, in order to produce at a scarier number, implying that eight children a day die because “gun lovers” only care about “their rights.”Bingo!
And I've seen that "caring only about their rights" talking point springing up more and more these days.

Horning IN?
Mike H says these folks have integrity.
I haven't personally researched Andy Horning's and Lisa Kelly's records, but I've always found Mike's opinions to be worth listening to. If you live in Indiana, I suggest you check them out. And if you have any knowledge about the candidates, please feel free to share them in "Comments."
I did see they got this right:

I did see they got this right:
“The people shall have a right to bear arms...” This is unequivocal. No limitations are stated anywhere in this constitution; therefore none are allowed.
Maximum Mike Does Heller
Well, yeah, technically it's a right, but:
What a surprise.
[I]t will not affect its continued enforcement of all existing federal firearms laws."BATFU presses onward, unfazed, unchecked and unconstitutionally.
What a surprise.
We're the Only Ones Behind You Enough
Surveillance video from inside Reagan National Airport shows Robin Kassner standing with a TSA agent who sorts through her bag.In non-"Authorized Journalist" speak, that means a thug assaulted her from behind.
Moments later, a Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority police officer steps in and pulls Kassner to the ground.
But that's OK--the department says she "was not cooperative," and we all know any citizen acting that way with "authoritah" deserves a good smackdown.
This reminds me of a particularly vile "joke" I once heard:
What do battered women have in common? That "punch line" seems to be SOP for anyone they get under their control, and Officer Michael Urbina has proven himself to be quite the "Only One," don't you think?
They just don't listen.

We're the Only Ones Engaging Enough
A former Michigan City police officer has been sentenced to three years probation in a case that began when he was accused of engaging in a sexual act with a female prisoner.Hey, it's not like he's the "Only One" to engage in misconduct, falsify reports, betray trust...

We're the Only Ones Always Thinking Forfeiture Enough
Under the direction of former Sheriff Brian Gilbert, the Dallas County Sheriff's Department hauled in millions over the course of several years -- and then Gilbert got a little too greedy, making off with paper sacks containing $120,000 seized in a traffic stop. Not only does it enrich enterprising "Only Ones," it funds the police state.
Gilbert's punishment was a suspended ten year prison sentence, five years' probation, and a term of make-work "community service."
The better to bind you with, my dear!
William N. Grigg really is one of the best investigative journalists out there. That shallow statist talking heads are the ones in the field who get the recognition and reward is further evidence of the institutionalized corruption that is "Authorized Journalism."
I found another "must read" article (heck, the guy's entire body of work qualifies) that should be of particular interest to WarOnGuns regulars--especially those of you who leave biting commentary of your own. There's this list thing happening in addition to all the other tools our employees use to better serve us...

North Carolina Rats Out to Feds
The Democrat-controlled North Carolina state senate overwhelmingly passed legislation requiring that anyone in the state who by law has been committed to a mental health facility will have their name entered into a national database to prevent them from buying a firearm.
The Liberty Sphere has some observations that are sure to draw some fire from the apologia faction. Please be ready to back him up if that happens.
We're the Only Ones Shifting the Blame Enough
A retired Los Angeles police officer paralyzed when his 3-year-old son fired his father's handgun while riding in the family pickup in Anaheim two years ago filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the gun's manufacturer.
...and the holster maker, and the stores that sold him both. I think he forgot the ammo maker and the people who authorized him to be an "Only One" and carry a gun, as that option is not available to mere citizens in LA County.
I can't feel sorry for this man--not with his doing this. The most I can hope for is to keep a rein on my contempt and not say anything cruel.
This Day in History: July 11
The General understanding, there is a bad Custom prevailing, of the Non-Commissioned Officers and soldiers absenting themselves from Guard, under pretence of going for Provisions; it is therefore order’d, that all Officers and Soldiers, bring their provision to the Guard they mount, and on no pretence quit their Guard, untill it is regularly dissmissed.
