Albany County lawmakers today are expected to give a pastor $10,000 to keep up his efforts to get people to turn in their firearms.

How is it a religious group can't put a manger scene on city property at Christmas, but the legislature can hand over wads of dough so a church can effect its beliefs on the public?

If we're going to be consistent about the so-called "wall of separation" the left relies so heavily on, shouldn't it also pose a barrier to their agenda?

Where, oh where is the ACLU, and Americans United Against Non-Marxist Religion?

If Wishes Were Fishes, We'd All Join Mothers Against Gun Violence

The group Mothers Against Gun Violence holds its annual Community Vigil. Unfortunately it coincided with one of the most violent weekends of the summer.

So wishing something away doesn't make it so?

Dang--I'm gonna have to come up with another plan...

In the mean time, mothers, here are a few suggestions, for what they're worth: a strong and devoted father in the picture always helps and enabling bad behavior always hurts.

Maybe work the development end instead of the developed one.

But there I go wishing again.

Showdown in Atlanta

Atlanta squares off against gun rights advocates Monday over whether people with the proper licenses should be able to carry weapons into so-called "nonsecure areas" of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

U.S. District Court Judge Marvin Shoob is scheduled to hear arguments from GeorgiaCarry.org, which has sued the city and the city-run airport. The group is asking for a temporary injunction to stop the city from enforcing the airport gun ban. Atlanta city attorneys will argue the gun ban should remain in place.

Keep an eye on this one. I'm sure the feds will.

Peace in the Valley

"Nobody can walk down the street and be safe, that is, be free from police interference," says Valley.

Now there's a man who knows how to secure the blessings of Liberty! That's because, as The LRC Blog reports:

"We gonna pop [the drug dealers] in the head," says Mayor Valley, who just instituted a 24-hour, non-stop curfew as part of an effort to reduce violence. This means that everyone in the area is essentially under house-arrest. The people who live there are not even allowed on their front lawns.

Now there's a safe society for you. And what's more:
