Denny Church raises a flag. I have not had a chance to check it out and offer no opinion. I bring it up here because it's a comment on my site and I think it deserves to be explored, but I just don't have time right now. I leave it to you to read what he says and judge for yourself.

Noted the comments on Blackwell's stable mate, Benkiser. She presided over the drubbing of Republican elected judges in Dallas two years ago and this cycle in Harris County/Houston. Considerable Republican majorities in our state Senate and House have all but dried up with the House now with just a two seat majority and no party discipline coupled with roving RINOs sure to sink our initiatives. She's stated that if she and Blackwell prevail in the RNC chase she will remain as Texas state chair. In my opinion it's too bad Blackwell let her on his team. Benkiser has failed Texas and now wants to take her show on the road...
ReplyDeleteI was a Ron Paul delegate to the Texas State Republican convention and I can attest to the facts laid out by Denny Church. I did not sit on the Credentials Committee, but I was in there during some of their deliberations and also plugged into what was happening in the room with regard to the Nueces County fiasco.
ReplyDeleteMy opinion is that the chair of that committee was the designated hit man of Tina Benkiser. He is a judge and attorney. During the parts of the committee meetings I observed it appeared that he, essentially, made summary judgments on issues without a vote or even consultations with the rest of the committee.
Tina Benkiser hates the Ron Paul supporters as far as I can tell. I can only conclude that she hates us so badly that she was willing to send in a designated hit man to prevent a fair result in a case involving blatant corruption in the conduct of the County convention in Nueces County.
She got sued by a coalition including Ron Paul supporters for her practice of waiting until the convention is almost over (and much business transacted) before holding the election of the Permanent Chair.
I remain unimpressed by Tina Benkiser and my estimation of Ken Blackwell has now fallen severely after learning that she would be his co-chair.
