'Qualifying Fireams'

It has begun. Despite assurances to the contrary, some democrats are champing at the bit to institute citizen disarmament, and like impulsive children, can't even wait for their guy to be inaugurated... This is nothing less than a declaration of war on American gun owners. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column discusses an anti-gun bill introduced last week that would make us all criminals. Well, not all of us...

As always, please share links to these with your friends, post on forums...

The thought strikes: I'm going to start making a pest of myself by asking you to send these links to newspaper editors, talk radio hosts...

UPDATE: Some guy who calls himself "Rifleman" gave me a great gift in "Comments"--a Fudd's perspective that the proposed law is "reasonable" and I'm being "loony." Naturally, the switchboard is lit up. Go on over and participate.

Also, as of right now, Gun Rights Examiner is #1 in the Politics category and #3 in overall National for traffic for today. That has never happened before. Please help me reach the top.

  1. I will keep saying this.

Say your prayers. Keep your basic load at hand. Perform PMCS. Do PT regularly. Practice your martial skills.

  3. Dave, did you pay that guy "rifleman" to do that? 'Fess up; that was you, wasn't it? :-)

From my comment: "I'm trying to picture how the various law enforcement agencies in our very rural, very gun-owning area would ever raise enough LEOs willing to die at the hands of their neighbors in the name of enforcing this idiotic law."

Also linked your column on my blog. Well done!

  4. I believe the rifleman is a liberal troll trying a shot at some propaganda to see if he/she can swing people views on this matter.
People have their backs up against the wall and will not stand for any more gun laws. If they are trying to pick a fight I strongly believe they will get one.

  5. Oh boy, that was fun! Can we do that again tomorrow? :)

So good to read so many comments from folks who really do "get it."

I just hope the bogus "rifleman" came back and read the comments that followed. That, and a whole bunch of folks who never really gave the issue much thought.

Congratulations, David. That was a winner among winners!

  6. I see 30 some comments there & also see you have written many storys on that site since you started. Why dont I ever see links to your storys on pragblogs? Maybe its cause none of your storys are as important as what they write about every day & they don't rate letting their readers know about them. If thats not it, what else?

  7. Its the same rhetoric used by the Germans for registration pre WWII. But liberals and their ilk, fudds/prags/etc, never seem to know or learn from history.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Never learn from history????
Are you joking, they took Hitler's 1938 gun laws word for word and used them for our 1968 gun laws. They are willfully repeating history. This isn't some stupid morons tripping over their own feet. These people full well knwo what they are doing and mean to do it.

  9. Anyone know where I can find the video of Carolyn McCarthy and the other cow who said the .50 cal fired a heat seeking round?

  10. I don't believe for one second that the "Rifleman" is a real gun owner. He sounds more like an operative of the gun control crowd who was trying to create positive spin for their side under the guise of a "reasonable" gun owner.

He was quite thoroughly shouted down, and his worthless arguments were drowned out in the ensuing melee. That is a strategy right out of the enemy's own playbook. It worked very well.

  12. "Why dont I ever see links to your storys on pragblogs?"

{snicker} Hell, man, I've been trying to remember the last time I saw Reynolds link here.

  13. Thanks David that helped a lot I could not for the life of me remember where I had see the video at

  14. This BS is what comes from compromising you basic principles.
What, I forgot; Prags don't have principles only positions.

  15. Why dont I ever see links to your storys on pragblogs?
Oh, so now in addition to Authorized Journalists, we have Authorized Bloggers too? How's life on the other side of that looking glass there, Sparky? I ain't made it over there yet...

  16. Well, it is a point, Pistolero, I resigned myself to that long ago, though. Most "gun blogs" don't/won't link to WarOnGuns or feature my stuff. And even most that do either sidebar link or occasionally cite a WoG post for reasons of their own don't/won't promote Examiner links. It's just the way it is.

You can chalk it up to me being a lousy writer, me being too divisive, me being a threeper a&&**** or whatever else anyone wants to say.

I'll continue doing what I do because I believe it is the right thing. The majority of both the world and the "gun rights community" is free to disagree with me on that.

That's why I hit up the regulars here to help spread the word. I figure if someone comes here every day, reads the posts, maybe makes comments, they get some value from what I do, and share a level of agreement with what I maintain. Of course, I've been wrong before...

  17. Well David,

All that about gun blogs not linking to WOGs may be true but WOGs is my first stop each day and I'm sure the same is true for many others too.

    Keep up the GREAT work!

  18. Well, it is a point, Pistolero

Perhaps, but it's an erroneous one, in my opinion. Just because the "pragblogs" don't think your Examiner columns and the issues discussed therein aren't worth discussing on their blogs doesn't necessarily make it so. It seems to me that they're getting as clique-ish as the mainstream media, and that to me is as good an explanation of any of why they're silent -- that is, you're not part of their little clique so, with some exceptions, what you have to say by and large doesn't matter to them. I know that take is probably not going to win me any friends -- and it's probably not what you yourself wanted to be said, since I know you don't want to make it about any of the personalities involved -- but it's the distinct impression I've gotten from reading them.

  19. and that was supposed to read, "Just because the 'pragblogs' don't think your Examiner columns and the issues discussed therein are worth discussing on their blogs doesn't necessarily make it so."

  20. From "shall not be infringed" to "Ya gotta pass this test" in a couple of generations.
You can't impose a literacy test on a voter because they were used to keep minorities from having a say. You can't demand that a media outlet let you review what it intends to publish or broadcast. You can't deny rental property or refuse to sell real estate to someone based on how they look or sound. But one percent of gun owners commit violent crimes, so...
.. so the ignorant majority will say "Sounds like a good idea to me. There are too many accidents, too much killing."
So they support SKIPPING blithely across many people's line in the sand.
A long fight? I think not.

  21. Well, since the Procrustean bed methodology seems to have me pre-labeled, I'll just say that I prefer to write as much of my own material as possible, and I link not only to WoG but also the Examiner columns separately.

I'm so "glad" that we spend time fighting each other instead of the threat right in front of our faces. Nice work all.

  22. Kind of reminds me of a vet. A good vet will charge very fair prices to make sure that the animals get the care that they need. Its about doing the right thing because they are into what they do with the intent of a positive out come.
I'm sure there are a lot of gun blogs that I do not go to because they have become a tight circle. In that case I'm blessed being I have little time and they are not open and passionate about defending our Constitution as I and many of my excellent countrymen are. Can't have it both ways and actions do speak for themselves.

  23. In the late 80's/early 90's I predicted to my brother, an attorney, that there would some day be a revolution of sorts in this country and one of its main causes would center on the 2nd Amendment. He disagreed saying that if such a thing happened it would more likely be over taxation. I still think I'm right.
Just hearing the arrogance of a Chuck Schumer or Nancy Pelosi statement angers me and brings in me a contempt for anyone like them that I can't even describe. I can't remember who the tyrant was but I remember a US Congressman a long time ago say something like "we're going to get your guns whether you like it or not." I think it was Metzenbaum but I'm not sure but what he said I'll never forget.

  24. Robert, many of them are saying it by their actions. Their actions make that very, very clear. They are also saying we are coming after your hard earned money and your children.
They want to steal our gun rights, our money and our children's minds. Nevertheless, always remember who they are, they are parasites and nothing but that.

  25. Amendment II Democrats has just launched a petition drive to put pressure on Democratic legislators on the Hill to withhold support for HR45. All pro-RKBA Democrats are invited to request petitions for their home districts so they can rally support from their Democratic neighbors who support our Second Amendment rights.

If any War on Guns regulars want a petition form for their Democratic Representative, e-mail me.
