Teabagging Obama

Mike Vanderboegh expounds on a protest idea from Karl Denninger that is inspired by some earlier Patriots.
That is, to mail President Obama one teabag. Nothing dangerous, nothing illegal - just one teabag.

Send one to your Congressman and one to each Senator.
My thought was to tag each tea bag with a fitting message, and I suggested the following as something that could be copied, pasted, printed, cut and attached.

I saw a comment on this somewhere, and I can't find it now, that suggested this is probably illegal under a whole bunch of different Homeland Security--not to mention USPS--regulations. In which case, were I to do this, I'd probably dress like an Indian.

As an aside, you don't want to see some of the graphic images I came across while Googling "teabag" to see if anyone carried custom die-cut print stock sheets. Honest, dear, I'm doing research...

For that matter, I'm wondering if this blog post title will attract some record page view numbers...

  1. I'd be interested to see anything making this illegal.

You're not sending dangerous or explosive substances. You're simply sending dried tea leaves in a small mesh bag.

Denninger also suggested attaching your favorite anti-bailout blog entry to ensure the point was made.

Either way, I *will* be doing this myself.

  2. Remember, simply wearing a Batman mask on a city street is considered "dangerous" by our overlords.

Just being alive is dangerous, isn't it?

But the "bailout" is merely one symptom among thousands that these so called hired hands are totally out of control.

I'd suggest we need to send a manifesto of our sovereignty and their status as our servants.

Don't dwell on the symptom. Address the disease.

  3. I propose sending a copy of the US Constitution and The Bill of Rights with the teabags.

  4. I see nothing illegal about it. Remember the 'You're NUTS!' campaign when "Jericho" was cancelled? Seems like the same legal issues would apply.

  5. How about unused condoms, to show just how we feel about their ilk?

  6. Just remember, your newer printers encode their signature on all pages printed. If the printer is registered, it can be traced.

  8. What's a little teabagging when they're big into fisting already.

Personally, I think the reflecting pool would make a nice harbor substitute, especially given his claims of being the reincarnation of Lincoln or whatever the hell his claim was.

I was going to suggest tea bag postcards, to avoid giving the feds any more money than needed and to avoid any "illegal" bullstuff, but the fair tax folks have already laid claim to that.

Honestly, I think it's a wasted effort. The audience is limited, likely the only people who would ever know about it are you and the person opening their mail.

  9. Now filling the reflecting pool with tea is something I could get behind. Just be sure and bring lots of ice, lemons and the sweetener of your choice.

  10. I would have to suggest something better: Why not a target with a tight grouping?

  11. A target would surely get you a visit from some stuffed suit.

    Teabags in the reflecting pool...

    Brilliant.

  12. Maybe I am being especially dense here, but what is the significance of "3"?

  13. III strikes...and you're out.

  14. LOL- three strikes and you're out... well, a better interpretation of the symbol III is "read between the lines"
Don't think I'll put that on mine, but I am hand writing a letter explaining why the tea bag and why I believe they are not following the Constitution.

  15. III Refers to the three percent who will give their lives for freedom, and who have the skills and resolve to do so.

  16. It was a double entendre. Those who mean to lead (rule) us have struck out, not only by failing to abide by their sworn oath to defend the supreme Law of the Land, but by attacking (striking at) the very heart of American Liberty. Alas, when the coiled Snake is tread upon and decisively reacts (when it strikes), although the dark of night may descend, and it will be long and cold, through the blessings of Divine Providence the dawn will break and the sun will rise over the Republic once again. Doubt it not.

  17. I regret that I have but one life to give for my great-great-grandchildren's freedom. I also remember that no poor dumb bastard ever won a war by dying for his country, he won it by making the OTHER poor dumb bastard die for HIS country.
Here at the crossroads, we see two different Americas. Only one of them has any resemblance to the republic that was intended. For my 30 politically-aware years, I've watched this nation veer off course. We're about to run out of smooth pavement. Some want to put the pedal to the metal. They WON'T LET US get out of the car. So be it.

  18. I don't feel so bad now that I have received three different answers to my question about "3":

    1) Read between the lines;

    2) 3 percent who act; and

    3) 3 strikes and you are out (with extensive commentary by one of the several Anonymi.

Are there any more answers, or are "3" enough?

  19. I searched both google (whom I refuse to use) and yahoo. I entered "teabags" and nothing strange was listed on the first four pages.

  20. They're all facets in their own way, Jerry, but I appreciate how it must seem a bit like the blind men and the elephant to hear it this way.

This should tell you what you need to know.

  21. Thanks. I have now "seen the elephant".

However, why is the palm out in the graphic? It isn't like we are sending it to our friends.

To our friends, show it palm out.

To our enemies, show it palm in.

  22. Because I put together a quick and dirty and ripped it off from a sign language chart.

And because I've been too busy with priorities to revisit it, and besides, I'm not an artist anyway.

I wanted both in and out,but there we have it.

Let us all look upon a problem as an opportunity. Complaints suggest solutions.

Some of us have full plates. Feel free to be the leader on this.

  23. I don't know about being a "leader", but this pathetic image is my humble contribution to the cause.
