We're the Only Ones Intelligently Monitoring Enough

The Maryland State Police surveillance of advocacy groups was far more extensive than previously acknowledged, with records showing that troopers monitored -- and labeled as terrorists -- activists devoted to such wide-ranging causes as promoting human rights and establishing bike lanes. [More]
Gee, I wonder if they also keep tabs on us "Homegrown Terrorists"?

And why would they call "Only Ones" who waste resources promulgating a police state "intelligence officers"?

  4. Careful David, juggle balls and you won't be able to see the blue of their helmets or the SS on their lapels.

I have to wonder which "circus" PETA (the so-called ethical ones) would disrupt to be deemed a "security threat"

  5. State Police, police state.
I know some of you are tired of hearing about the Richmond, Va., gun show where Virginia State Police illegally shared National Instant Check System names and addresses with local cops and ATF. Some people had their new guns confiscated before they even left the parking lot. Others had neighbors interviewed. "Did you know Joe X is buying a gun? How do you feel about that?" There were about 40 police cars parked near the entrance.
The state crime commission is going to meet this week. They'll be discussing mandatory gun show background checks for even occasional sellers who are not licensed gun dealers. The General Assembly already tabled that for this session, but they're going to resurrect it.
Indeed, our privacy seems to threaten them.
