Last week, the northeast Ohio county of Summit announced they were considering passing an ordinance to prohibit county workers from carrying firearms while working or doing county business, even while in personal vehicles. [More]This is my home county. Russ Pry's poorly hidden hand is no surprise:
Pry is a strong leader who will continue to collaborate...And I mean that in the Vicchy French sense of the term...
So how fitting and typical that he surrendered before a fight.
Disarming all government employees would be a good first step. If they want to live off the sweat of the citizen's brow, they should give up most basic rights.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they like what CTASC (IN's counter terrorist committee) did issuing a fiat rule banning guns from the Statehouse. Ohoh. Summit County Council tried for an ordinance. That meant more exposure and the backing down.
ReplyDeleteDept of Admin. in Indiana said there was fair notice (not).
I'm still looking for the Governor to grow a pair and rescind or enough legislators to dump it.
Disarming employees is a bad idea. They are also citizens, and pay taxes. And, their independance of thought and action, bolstered by their right to carry, can be spread to others. Employees should have the same rights as any of us, and certainly not more.
