There Oughtta Be a Law

We must close the bullet and hammer loophole! [More]

And now if you'll excuse me, I've been meaning to try bobbing for french fries...

  1. What a retard. What'd you expect when you smack a rimfire with a hammer?

  3. The sloppy tone of the reporting is very annoying:

    "found a .22 caliber bullet"

the bullet "knocked [him] on [his] butt"

"the bullet did go in his stomach and doctors removed it at the hospital"

Bullets don't go bang, .22s don't have the kinetic energy to knock anyone over, and I somewhat doubt the fellow had his stomach cut open and resealed by doctors, as opposed to a shallow torso wound.

  4. Where was his sister-wife while this was going on?

  5. In my misspent youth, I too detonated 22 rounds with a hammer. Unlike this idiot, I knew that it was going to go off, so I used gloves, safety glasses, and a heavy coat.

Based on multiple experiments, I can say with authority that the bullet will move less than 12 inches. OTOH, the brass case, or pieces of it, will fly more than 20 feet.

The clown probably got hit by a small piece of the case, and the "abrasion" was likely a first degree burn.

  6. Talk about dumbed down... But at least he seems to have learned something from the experience.

And the suggestion to call the cops if you find a live round? That's really hysterical.

Please let it be that his children aren't. Please let it be that this man is sterile and his wife is "adventurous".
