“I’m a winner, pal,” Graham retorted. Moments later, after saying he wants to the party to reach out to independent voters, he said: “Winning matters to me. If it doesn’t matter to you, there’s the exit sign.” [More]Interesting. We welcome people without core principles and invite those who have them to leave.
In other pragmatic political news, Graham is OK with nationalizing banks.
Hey, fascism and selling out is a winning formula. Everything else is just a loser.
Caroll Quigley would be so proud of this guy.
“I’m not going to give this party over to people who can’t win,” Graham responded. This is why the Republicans are adrift. Even now, they don't get it.
ReplyDeleteGraham is an absolute disgrace.
ReplyDelete"Ron Paul is not the leader of this party."
That remark drew a few jeers, with several people yelling,
"Yes he IS!"
Graham showed his colors not long after taking office. His campaign spoke of maintaining the legacy of Sen. Thurmond, but he has more closely followed Kennedy. He talks right, and votes left.
ReplyDeleteLindsey Grahamnesty is a sterling example of the problem of entrenched incumbency, and political hacks, who are more loyal to the 'Brand' than to the citizens who elect them. At this point, I'd rather vote for a dem than him, at least that way I would know what I was getting.
the GOP is self-destructing in front of our eyes.
ReplyDeletefortunately, there is a naive remnant on the left who don't understand what democrats actually do, only the sentiments that they speak of.
but classical liberalism in general -- not just ron paul -- will give them a way to rediscover and reinvent themselves.
as friends go, these would surely make an odd couple in other times. but, liberty is liberty, and it doesn't care what you call yourself.
David,

It's hopeless, but luckily they don't have to get it. All they have to do is step aside.
They won't support a candidate who "can't win," and the candidate can't win because they won't support him. Not only that, they shun and insult him as -- an extremist, of course. The party leaders and the NRA are in bed on that one. But "Ration Political Speech" McCain is "Mainstream McCain."
ReplyDeleteWell, with Obama's new edict on vehicle mileage, the auto industry and all its peripherals should be finished off, and the workers laid off from them won't be able to buy the things that other people make, and the dominoes will fall. The Republicans might even start to look competent again. To some.
A pox upon both Democrats and Republicans, there ain't dimes worth of difference between 'em. Just Left boot and left boot.
