“What about an apology? Did they apologize for killing a US Marshal?” [More]In fairness to HS Precision, I cannot confirm the accuracy of this report. That said, I have no reason to doubt it, and the company's handling of the entire self-created Lon Horiuchi mess does not make me sympathetic to their plight.
I'd say it's up to them to address this to the gun-buying public. If they choose not to, the consequences will be theirs to live with.
As soon as this is posted, I'm going to contact them, give them this link, and invite them to make a public statement.

UPDATE:
The photograph of the HS Precision's booth shows some poorly chosen words as the companies slogan, with regards to previous events...
ReplyDeleteI wrote Midway USA pres personally asking for their response and got no reply. I no longer do business with Midway, will never buy a hs product. Lon is a murdering bastard.
ReplyDeleteSo, the campaign to convince the world that the Weavers were somehow less than human goes on. Furtive anti-government plotters, not Americans who worked, played, regretted the past, hoped for the future, slept, ate and went to the bathroom.
ReplyDeleteOur Overseers want to convince us that they themselves are somehow MORE than human, like animate marble statues of noble minor gods, unsullied by petty human passions, possessing merely a need for The Good of All.
Hitler's people did that.
I shook Randy Weaver's hand once at a gun show, and it said a lot about him: a strong man with no need to impress with his strength; a gentle man tough as whipcord, because he's had to learn to be. An unremarkable-looking trim late-middle-age man who's spent a lot of time outdoors, with a genuine smile that is faintly sad. A man who has experienced the worst of what happens to those who say no when government says "Thou shalt."
Anon...how is Midway involved in this other than carrying some HS stuff?
ReplyDeleteScott, I sent Larry of Midway a very polite question asking if he knew about the endorsement and if they would continue to sell hs products. He didn't see fit to answer in any manner even though I was polite and have had an account there several years. I have a real problem with anyone knowingly selling products endorsed by a murderer that shot a woman holding a baby, and did more of the same at Waco. The Weaver deal was a set up, supposedly over a $200 tax for a 1/4" short bbl declared short by an unconstitutional law. Midway has chosen to aid and abet, helping hs by selling their products.
ReplyDeleteAre HS Precision's financial records publicly available? I'd be interested to know how much of their money comes from actual people and how much of it is from Imperial Stormtroopers and Gestapo. Ever since this broke I've suspected that it leans very heavily towards the second...
ReplyDeleteIf "well, she was there" is a valid excuse, don't bother with snipers. Call in an airstrike or artillery to take out the entire area and be done with it.
ReplyDeleteCollateral damage? We don't care. They were there. Why should we care more for Afghanis or Iragis more than U.S. citizens?
Basically, if that is now how we operate, then hang it up, folks.
There's an extreme penalty for not showing up on the court date set for your case, in this case a gun customized by Weaver according to federal agents' instructions TO 1/4-inch below the minimum legal overall length, an obscure law no one knows. The summons Weaver was issued had an altered date, he missed the hearing because of it, and the Marshals went hunting. They wanted Weaver to spy on the nearby Aryan Brotherhood in a plea deal, and he refused because he had committed no crime. Then the governmet got really nasty. What would YOU do if armed men were approaching your house and killed your dog? Sammy Weaver returned fire, and then ran for home and was shot IN THE BACK and killed.
ReplyDeleteEntrapment, extortion, murder by government. A test case. I'm sure that marshal is on the National Police Memorial wall. Sammy and Vicki Weaver are remembered with contempt, if at all. For wanting to be left alone.
Why the Hell should they apologize for killing a U.S. Marshall? Deagan got what he earned, his compatriots on that day got away with way less than they earned.
ReplyDeleteSome may think it harsh to say Deagan deserved to die, but he did. He was the first to fire, from hiding, upon people who had no idea anyone at all was there.
If any or you or yours are on your own place and someone hidden starts shooting at you, would you apologize if that sonofabitch got killed? I wouldn't. However, I would lament the fact the none of the rest of them did. And I would necessarily have to give some thought to correcting that.
