Black and White

Akron police say they aren't ready to call it a hate crime... [More]
Think they'd be ready if 50 white kids attacked a black family, shouting "This is our world...This is a white world"?

Think Jesse might perceive a media opportunity?

The hypocrisy is astounding.

  2. I am sure, that Jesse and Al would write this off as "youthful exuberance".

Not that this isn't a hate crime or racially motivated. It obviously is.

It is also a reminder to carry at all times. When confronted with a mob like this, you draw and open fire until you expend all of your rounds. Reload and evaluate the situation. If any of the enemy combatants are still combative, oblige them. Then remove yourselves from the immediate premises and go directly home. Talk to no one, especially the JBT's. They will treat you like their enemy, like you started this problem. Keep your mouths shut, period. Admit nothing.

If need be, pack up your stuff and move.

  3. DAvid, shouldn't the hypothetical "white kids" be shouting, "This is a WHITE world"?

  4. This is truly sick and deranged. Something right out of a worst nightmare.

I own guns and participated in the shooting sports for as long as I can remember, however, this is the first time I am seriously considering carrying one on my person 24-7. This is a seriously deranged world and people must learn how to protect themselves.

Remember folks, CONSTANT VIGILANCE. Paying attention to little things, as little as they may seem, can do a lot to protect you and your loved ones from violent crimes.

  6. The danger of mobthink. Individually, those "youths" would probably have nodded in passing and continued on their way. In a group, the norm becomes what the group is willing to tolerate or engage in. The Nazis gave Germans a target group and permission to indulge their darkest impulses without fear of a penalty. There are always people without that internal moral governor which applies the brakes. Always.
I'm with IdahoBob. Shoot the mob leaders first, in tactical order. Stepping over their bodies will get more difficult and others will lose their enthusiasm. Worry about the legal consequences when your life and the lives of your loved ones are not in immediate danger.

  7. I had this entered in the comment regarding something here yesterday but deleted it. I just had/have this feeling the thing is bogus or there was something bogus about it.

Not that I don't think it could happen, since the area is the wild west with predators running the streets 24x7, but I have no evidence, just a gut feeling.

  8. People are suggesting that on sites where this or other versions of the story have run. Most of them appear to come from leftists who want to challenge the story because the witnesses are only the family and this does not serve their agenda. Some have said the family is racist, but that could just be a convenient smear.

I will watch this and post on it if it turns out to be a lie.

I do note the Beacon Journal has deleted comments and is not taking any more--could be they just got too hot to handle.

The latest update--the FBI has been called in. Al Sharpton has supported an investigation. And there apparently were witnesses:

"Akron police have confirmed from witnesses that the attack by 30 to 50 teens was unprovoked..."

  9. Glad to hear that there were witnesses. I paused briefly while writing this up last night for my blog and then decided to post it and keep an eye out for any signs of falsehood.

This is called disparity of force folks. If even 10 people attack someone without provocation, it is reasonable to believe that the victim will end up in the hospital (especially if the victim is down and being "stomped"), usually satisfying the "serious bodily injury" clause many states have to authorize the use of deadly force.

  10. And of course if they would have used deadly force in response we'd be discussing a news story about racist whites who attacked a group of innocent minority youths.

  11. Qi, if you lived where I do you'd carry 24/7. Then again I do everywhere anyway.

Always have a shotgun pistol and several other surprises for wandering sh***** at the house and in the vehicle too.

    Not paranoia. Just caution.

Soon to relocate to the North side of Indy for a home base. Then to Los Angeles. From pan to fire!

Advice: Stay armed always and in minimal condition yellow (Jeff Cooper).

  12. Mike, you're going to have a tough time staying armed in the People's Demokratik Republik of Kollyvornia.

  13. If it had been a white assailant and a black victim, regardless of the numbers involved it would have instantly been hailed a hate crime.

The whole nonsense of hate crimes makes this more of an issue than it should be. Either the teens assaulted the family or they didn't, regardless of their reason.

  14. Philadelphia recently saw two weekends of similar behavior by yoots, set up 'flash-mob'style, i.e the dramatis personae check a social networking site for time and place and all show up to raise hell, a la Florence and Normandy.
In South Africa, new cars can be equipped with flame throwers. I used to think that was a bit over the top. Now, I'm not so sure.

Of course it's not a hate crime. Blacks cannot be racists or haters, ask them.

However, they can be made into corpses when they indulge in this type of non-hate activity.

  16. Well, I can't say that's good to hear David, but to have witnesses at least gives it a little credibility.

    It also makes it worse....

I was speaking to an ex Akron cop about this and gun rights in general today. While I can't say how he behaved on the job he seems to be a "cold dead hands" type that retired. Slowly working on converting some from "ewww guns, ban them!" to at least a "as long as they're not used against me" mentality, having a cop to back up my "radical" views helps a bit. The thing is the younger cops I know all seem to be more in the "ok for me and not for thee" camp.

Getting a little off track, but as far as this goes he thinks it's legit from his years down there, but had no inside info. Maybe it is legit and I've had too much "evil white man" crap seeping in, but after the BS claims during the election I'd rather play it safe.
