Seems like some charges are in order. Allowing multiple minors access to a loaded firearm. If the same thing happened to a non-only one you know there would be charges. That and the officer should be suspended or fired for violating firearms safety rules.
He'll be suspended with pay and then later quietly exonerated and his record expunged. He'll probably even get a promotion and an award of some sort.
At least they gave the Deputy's name. He is the "Onley" one...
