Gun Owners Should Support Danny Tarkanian for Senate

It's a bigger race. It's one we can win. And if we do, it will topple one of our most powerful politicians and shake the Senate to its core. [More]
Here's that second Gun Rights Examiner column I promised earlier today.

Without hyperbole, we actually have a real shot at toppling the socialist Senate majority leader with this contender--one who took my challenge and gave unequivocal answers to my questionnaire. As far as gun organizations go, I expect one major obstacle: NRA.

I hope some of you see the significance of this. I hope those of you who do see how this will not happen without your active participation and help spreading the word.

Observing who is silent on this one should be interesting. Please don't let it be you.

  1. David I'd be cautious about endorsing anyone at this point. Tarkanian is an unknown in the north other than being the son of a whack job (albiet very successful)former basketball coach. There are other strong contenders lining up. Mark Amodei & Sue Lowden for 2. Both well known and supported throughout the state. Its going to get real interesting. In the end it will pretty much go to whoever the casino industry gets behind.

  2. Joe, at the posting Amodai had not yet announced and Lowden still hasn't. I can't penalize someone for taking a leadership position. If you'll note, I specifically mentioned in my column that if Lowden joined the race, I'd pass the questionnaire on to her. Ditto for Amodai, and I'll post the results.

There is nothing that says we can't be supportive of all deserving candidates and then come together to support the primary winner.

  3. You're right of course. I hadn't read the Examiner article (yet)just the blurb here. In order to win though, Tark will have to spend a lot of time and money in the north of the state. Although he can do well, he can't beat Reid in Vegas. He will have to severely whomp him in the northeast cow counties. Lowden and Amodei both have a lot of "old" family there, a huge advantage.

  4. I think I've just decided who I'm voting for in the next election. Before, I would have just said "Anyone but Reid", but now I'm thinking I'm going to put my support for Danny Tarkanian.
